Of course I'm busing my butt in the gym and giving 110% effort in all my workouts. Additionally I'm eating clean, I'm getting plenty of rest and I try to maintain a positive attitude at all times (that really helps!) With the exception of the creatine, all those things I listed above are essential to bulking success. Unfortunately a lot of people who try to bulk only do a fraction of what's required to make good gains and, as a result, they gain nothing but fat and frustration. You know my philosophy: If you are going to do something, give it your all (and then a little more!)

I've gained 4.8 pounds in just 6 days, but of course very little, if any, of that weight is muscle. I have to fight for every ounce of muscle just like everyone else! Stay tuned, the real gains are coming...
This is a bit late, as I meant to ask this last week...?

So, the 4.8lbs gain is mostly water and some fat? Do you attribute this gain to the creatine? Obviously you are eating like there is no tomorrow?

Anyone know of any shirt making companies that use more of an athletic cut? Tailoring individual shirts gets hella expensive so I just end up having an extra few yards of cloth around the waist. Everyone says "just move all of it to the back" but there's so much that from behind the shirt looks like curtains that are half drawn.

I only have an 8 inch drop (difference from chest to waist). Someone like Skip probably has like a 14 inch drop-that definitely requires tailoring. I used to work at a big and tall clothes shop in San Diego and a bodybuilder came in with a 25 inch drop-that's the biggest I've ever seen.

Yep - after just six days you can't really add any appreciable amount of muscle, so it's got to be mostly water from the creatine and high carbs.

question john. Are you able to post the type of foods/meals you eat without violating the SC agreement? ie "i had chicken and rice last night for dinner" but not the timing of the good nor the macronutrient counts? i miss that factor of the site =/

I don't think so, but I'm going to ask SC if I can post some of my own recipes.

Here's Loki (left) & Turtle, having a tough day.

We spoil them, but they deserve it. They are the best puppies ever.

Sure you can. It's not the foods that matter, it's the amounts/when/why/how those amounts change, etc.

Thanks for checking first though, that's courteous of you.

I wish my dog would sit still like that. If you want a dog to lay around with you, don't get a Welsh Terrier.

"They are the best puppies ever." Well, while I'll agree that they're darn cute and great dogs from what you've told me, I may have to argue with you on that one point. Oh no, I'm not a biased at all.

I love those pics John!! Of course you probably knew I would like them! We need to get Loki and Turtle to hang out with Zack some day. I bet they'd be friends!

Looking forward to your new recipes. Be sure to include the pro/carb/fat/cals of each. J/K!

Loki would love Zack, he loves everyone and everything he meets (except cats, squirrels and birds). When he sees a new dog outside he cries and cries because he wants to be friends. Turtle, on the other hand, only likes Loki and is very possessive over him (and us). She's part Pitbull, part Shar Pei and was used for fighting other dogs in the ghetto when I rescued her. Bastards. True story: her owner was on the way to have her put down but he stopped by the place I was working at the time. Turtle's "owner" (Turtle's name was "Yanni" when we got her. Puke. Who names a fighting dog "Yanni"?) told me he was on the way to have her put to sleep. I took one look at her (she was a real mess, so scared and abused ... she could barely open her eyes until she had an operation) and told the guy who had her I'd take her right then and there. He agreed, and I took the rest of the day off and drove her straight to the vet. She had a lot of problems at first, but she's turned into the sweetest, most loyal and loving friend you could ever ask for. We've had her about 6 years now. Now that she knows she can trust people again she's very sweet to everyone, but she still doesn't like other dogs, I guess because of her past. She adores Loki for some reason. Probably because Loki exudes friendliness.

Loki was also a rescue. I brought him home over 10 years ago when he was just six months old. I've owned dozens of pets over my life and I've loved them all more than words can describe, but Loki and I share an amazing bond. He's very sensitive to my mood, and he's got an amazing ability to read my feelings. When I'm down, he cheers me up. When I'm happy, he makes me happier. Man, dogs just rule!

Actually I'll include them. It would be easy enough to figure out anyway. I just won't mention the portions I'm eating.

Thank you very much! That makes a whopping three people who like my new avatar.

I'm especially flattered that you mentioned my pecs, because I have a shirt on in that picture and was trying to emphasize my biceps.

Hey John, your making great progress! Both on SGX and even now on SUP with what little time you've been on it. I have a question for you about that...

Do you think people with the same amount of strict dedication and motivation could go on the same programs and not see as good as results as you are seeing? If so why you think that is? Genetics? Just some poeple work better with different programs than others?

There are numerous factors that go into a successful bulk, and countless variables that affect results. It would be impossible for two people to duplicate every one of those factors for any length of time. Of course genetics play a role, too.

The bottom line is that no two people are the same, and no two people will have the same response to SGX, SUP2 or any other program. What SC has shown thru the consistently excellent results of his clients is that his custom plans work very well for people who are willing to put forth the effort and stick with the program.

WHAT A WORKOUT!

Tonight's delt workout went GREAT! I had some minor shoulder pain towards the end of my 3rd delt exercise, but nothing like last time. In fact, after my first set of my first exercise, I felt so good I went with a regular workout using heavy weights. Right now my shoulder is a little tender, but it's far from what I was feeling last week.

Once I realized that my shoulder was holding up, something clicked inside of me and I absolutely ripped up the gym tonight. I usually take one minute between sets, but on several sets I felt like I didn't need that much rest and took only 30-45 seconds. I had Diecast blasting from the stereo and everything just felt "on". The relief of my shoulder combined with the great workout has me on cloud nine. Man, what a buzz I have right now. I can't even describe it.

Ahem. Back to earth.

I grabbed a couple of pictures after my workout to show my front, side and rear delts. I don't think I've done many "Most Muscular" poses before, so here's another attempt at it. My arms don't have much of a pump in these shots (that's tomorrow ), but my delts and traps were totally lit up.
