I'm surprised the SUP2 workouts are only 20minutes long. I think i would go crazy doing such short workouts, separating the cardio, and eating like a horse. I love being active, but what a huge lifestyle change. I'll probably get to SUP2 in january. No idea how far SGX will take me but i will probably end up being very light. I wonder where i would be...
Im 5'10
1994 i was slim, 18 and weighed 145lbs, maybe 11% fat.
2003 i was fat, 27 and weighed 220lbs, around 28% fat.
Now im around 175lbs (threw out scale), around 18%fat.
I'm guessing i'll reach 155 to 160lbs. Ouch! But when i get on SUP2, i will probably blow up...uhhh swole up! I'll really pay attention to your progress more mentality wise than anything else. At least you got high-volume approved. Definitely let us know how you feel on this program.

Tonight was leg night, but I posted pictures of my legs yesterday so I thought I'd post a picture of my arms with no pump. At least that was my intention. What really jumps out at me are my traps. I've made some good (and much needed) improvement in that area while I was cutting, and I expect that after my bulk they will be up to par with the rest of my body.
Traps...

That's the best gun's shot I've seen yet! And your rear delts are filling in nicely as well! They're key to a well rounded shoulder; I remember thinking they were underdeveloped looking a few months ago, but they're looking a lot better now.

I agree, there has been some amount of improvement, but they still need much work. Which brings me to my revised, revised, REVISED, REVISED split....
Chris has not approved this yet, but I want to give my delts their own day (along with a little trap work) because they are lagging so far behind. This is the split I've asked SC to look at and (hopefully) approve:
Monday: Cardio
Tuesday: Back & Traps
Wednesday: Chest & Abs
Thursday: Cardio
Friday: Legs
Saturday: Delts & Traps
Sunday: Biceps & Triceps
EDIT: The above split is now "SwoleCat approved", and will be my official bulking split. No more changes.

Shouldn't be a problem. I did that same bicep/back interval through my SGX program and still added 1/2 inch to my arms - while cutting!

I've come to the realization that if you don't do a split with back/bis and chest/tris (which I hate), then it is nearly impossible to separate every muscle group that is indirectly worked by another one by more than a day.

Yeah, me too!
Snowman:
John won't have an issue w/this, as he knows his body. In addition, the back work he will do uses deads as the main exercise (overall mass builder) so the other exercises that involve the pulling and use of biceps, will only serve as an active recovery type of exercise for the biceps, and won't lead to over-training. I have areas that I asked he watch for, and this is one of them along w/the triceps and shoulder split.

Yep, KT funny you mention this, I am coming to the same conclusion (as you probably already know).
Well, unless you work out 5-6 days a week.

For the past few hours I've been working on a special Daily News update for tomorrow. It's the end of my SGX program, the start of what promises to be my most productive bulk, and it's been almost three years since I started this incredible fitness adventure. With all that in mind, I thought it would be fun and interesting to recount some of the highs and lows I've experienced over the past few years with pictures and my retrospective thoughts.
I know some of you don't check out the main JSF page every day, but tomorrow's update should be worth a visit if you've at all followed my progress. I'll also have my new monthly pictures up (which, of course, are my post-SGX pictures!)
I hope you have as much fun reading it as I did putting it together!

John, I know one of your main goals during cutting was to eliminate that "trouble spot" below your belly button. Were you finally able to rid yourself of it? The fact that I have to ask means that it isn't visible in your pictures at least.
Also, given your strong response to SGX, I wouldn't be surprised at all if you ended up with 17.5+ inch (cold) flexed arms. That would be incredible.

It's still there, and at this point I have to think it probably always will be unless I'm willing to go down to competition bodyfat levels.

I'd love that! However, I need to keep in mind that the focus of this bulk is going to be on less "showy" muscles. In order of importance: upper back/lats, mid-back, traps, delts, pecs, biceps, triceps and abs. My legs are genetically predisposed to be huge, so they will grow no matter what and are not much of a concern.
Still, if I have 17.5 inch arms at the end of this, I won't complain!
