Narcissist Man has incredible Superhero traits, like chiseled abs and... um, chiseled abs. His main Superpower is blinding flashes of light from the dozen or so cameras he always carries with him.
Transformation Boy is a fighter - and not just another wannabe pugilist from Palookaville: he's a 4th degree White Belt in the mystic art of Ninja cage fighting. Much like Robin, he doesn't have a special power. But at least he gets to hang out with Narcissist Man and take his picture!

Hehehe!
Narcissist Man, to the rescue!
Oh by the way! The new house is done and I have the gym set up! Squatting cage, mirrors, rubber flooring, a weight tree... and over 400 lbs. of weights. I'll post pictures up soon!
I did shoulders before leaving for work today. Being able to train shirtless in the comfort of your own garage gym is d'bomb! First workout I did in my gym was a leg workout. And now that I have the squatting cage, I can do squats (at home)! Thank you, Jesus!

Awesome picture. I like the sunlight coming in the window. Your chest is looking great. Yes, my trusty sidekick, one day... you too will have bullet-deflecting pectorals like yours truly.

Actually, John... that's not bad. I imagined it as being much worse. Heck... your stomach is flatter and more defined than a lot of guys out there. The layer of fat you have below your navel is almost unnoticeable, and believe it or not, we all have little "easter eggs" on our bodies that make us unique and special.
Be proud of what you have, and rejoice in the fact that you've had such an awesome transformation. You're a very blessed young man, and there are millions of people out there who dream to have a stomach as flat as yours (given your perceived "imperfection").
You've inspired a lot of people over the years (myself included), and although I may not say this as often as I should, I am very proud of you. I do hope Kandra and I get to drive down to Orlando, or you and Lisa drive up to Orange Park one day soon, so we can meet and possibly weight train together. You are definitely an inspiring individual. Take care, my friend and be blessed!

Hey everyone, long time no post!
I'll respond to all the comments while I'm drinking my protein shake, but first I wanted to post a new picture.
This was taken a few minutes ago, so I've got a full day of meals and water in me (so I'm somewhat bloated). Still, I think my trouble area seems slightly reduced.
Wishful thinking, or has there been some improvement?

How different is your diet now than before you went on SGX. I am asking in vague terms, like, the diet is completely different OR moderately different, OR not very different at all, I just eat at different times.
I'm just wondering what kind of impact SGX will have on someone's life.
|
I'd say very different: I'm eating more meals, the macronutrients I eat at each meal are different than anything I've done before, my overall macronutrient percentages are different and I'm eating more calories then I otherwise would have.

Do I seem like the kind of guy who wimps out, or cow-tows to the whims of others?
Thanks for the kind words and the comments. Don't worry - I know what I want, and I won't stop until I get there. While I try to listen to advice and comments with an open mind, I don't consider "you are getting too big" to be "advice". It's just another opinion.

Gentically, you are a freak. Mentally, you are a freak (in terms of will power). Not many people can achieve what you are doing. Either they are held back by gentics, or they are held back by the fact that they can't stick to a regular diet and exercise plan.
You have something very special going, and to just quit trying to gain muscle, because of outside influences would be a travesty. You have done just about everything:
1) Lost a large amount of weight
2) Got way too skinny in the quest for Abs
3) Slowly started building muscle... before trying to get abs again
4) Bulk
5) Cut
6) Bulk
7) SGX
...
8) SUP2 Bulk
My transformation has paralled yours to almost a "T." Right down to my not skipping any meals or work outs, or cheating on my diet since I started three years ago.
1)I was 225 in November 2002, before losing all the weight by March (this was around when I found your site from the Fark link).
2)I got way too skinny by May 2003 trying to get abs.
3)I started weight training seriously by June, before trying for abs again.
4)I bulked on my own in fall/winter 03/04
5)I cut down in the spring of 04
6)I went on SUP2 Fall of 04
7)I went on SGX Spring of 05
8)I am in a lean mass phase, eating 25%Protein/60%Carb/15%fat, and am my leanest/biggest ever.
The only thing left for you to accomplish is to enter an amateur bodybuilding contest, and/or write a book. Followed by a giant media tour.
You would think as big as this site is, you would have gotten SOME media attention by now, other than the newspaper ad. Where the hell is Good Morning America?

That's pretty close, especially now that I do 45 minutes of cardio 7 days per week, and weight train for 35-45 minutes 4 days per week. Add some time for workout planning, meal prep and the web site updates, and that's about 2 hours per day.

One can get awesome results with 30-60 minutes of working out per day. Before SGX I was spending just 25-45 minutes per day working out.

Thanks Gila! When I weighed 160 pounds I would have freaked if I knew I'd be 190 pounds and 8% body fat just a few years down the road. Now when I look at my pictures from the summer of 2003 they make me want to eat a couple of chickens and a quart of rice!

Thanks Joe! Credit where credit is due: the SGX diet is what allowed me to regain my lost muscle while still losing body fat. No two ways about it: my homebrew cutting diet was far inferior to what I've got going now.
