John -- Do you think any of your recent arm growth might be due to your arm routine switch-up (in addition to SGX)? Reading about your gains, your positive experience with antagonistic supersets, and the Bill Grant article you linked, led me to skip today's normal chest/tri workout and try antagonistic bi/tri supersets. ... and wow, just unbelievable. At the end, my arms were so pumped up that I couldn't move them -- And, like you, it took me a good 5 minutes (and lots of struggling) to get my shirt off. Measured my arms afterward at over 18 inches -- That has NEVER happened. Anyway, thanks for the link -- I'll try doing bi/tri supersets for at least one more week just for fun...and who knows, I may make them a permanent part of my routine.

I'd say the traps are coming along, but far from excellent.
As for my lats, I agree with you 100%. My lats are probably my weakest body part. I'm working hard on them, but it isn't going to happen overnight. I have made some recent improvement, but I'm hoping they will explode when I bulk.

Thanks, man! As for working harder, I think you're doing great. For an extra push, try printing out a picture of Skip's back. Worked for me.

Absolutely! I think everything plays a roll: diet, training program, intensity, rest, mental attitude... The supersets do seem to work very well for me (and just about everyone else who tries them, it seems!) I'm going to keep doing them when I do SUP2, as long as it's cool with SwoleCat. I know with his diet plan and my work ethic in the gym I'm going to have my best bulking cycle yet this Winter!

Did someone mention me?!
Sorry... I've been spending the last 2 weeks moving. I just got my new squatting cage set up! I'm planning on getting my mirrors for my garage gym this weekend. 36" x 60" mirrors for $49.00 at Home Depot. Pictures coming soon!
By the way, John! Your back looks great! Almost as good as mine.

I had a great back workout tonight. I went up 20 pounds on my deads!
Rather than yet another "back double bi" shot, I got a little silly tonight in honor of my new heavy bag.
Eye of the Liger.

That's probably my favorite thing about deads: they're such a big exercise, whenever you're building muscle pretty quick (even if you're cutting, thanks to SGX!), you can easily jump 15-25 lbs a session!

I know what you mean! I've been adding 10 pounds per workout for the last few weeks and handling the weight just fine. So this week I added 20 pounds and nailed 4 sets of 12. Next week I'm going to go up 20 more, and then I'll need a new set of plates.

John, do you just "beat on the bag" or do you practice kickboxing or another such specific training?

Okay, so it soorrrtaa looks like you're sucking your thumb
But, you still look tough.
Really.
Thumbsucker....absoultely.
But also, tough.
....combined with Skip and his mouse ears, I can easily see a unique superhero crime fighting duo opportunitiy.
Just kidding, of course.
And, yes, I know I'm dumb.

Exactly! This is what I've been trying to tell everyone all along! If you don't believe me, just look at the JSF LOGO!
1. The arc -- see that arc swooshing around the back of the logo? It's obviously the path of a deadly katana!
2. The face -- what face? It's plain to see that the logo has no face, no features. Why? Because it's wearing a mask! A NINJA MASK!
3. The chest symbol -- you can read it? Yah, right! Almost no one can. It's part of an extremely ancient Japanese character set. Until early December of 2002, coincidently a month before John started his fitness journey, the art of reading these characters had been lost. Only now, with the discovery of an extremely old STONE weight set inscribed with these ancient characters, are we slowly beginning to decipher their cryptic meanings.

chicanerous - its so true. ninja training is becoming another fad like atkins, south beach, etc.
John Stone - I loaded the forums today and noticed the banners on the top of the page.
The "model" they have for AllTheWhey is so much less than you.
That's gotta make you feel great man - you could easily replace that guy.
You seriously should look into that inbetween ninja sessions.
eye of the tiger baby.... eye of the tiger...
More Edit:
Looking at that comparison pic again, you have that guy owned so bad.
Email allthewhey, offer your backshot-double-bicep modeling services.
