old fashioned oats. I eat them raw. Surprisingly tasty. Can't go wrong with fruit, either.

I can't stand cooked oatmeal so I eat it raw with a glass of water quite often.

Option 2... grind oatmeal into power and mix it with a protein shake. It just makes it thicker and obviously makes it taste like oatmeal. I'm used to it now and love it.

Complex Carbs:

Oatmeal with frozen blueberries and a scoop of Strawberry protein powder.

Long Grain Brown rice - get a rice cooker (~$20) and have enough rice for the week.

Sweet potatoes - I like the white ones (real sweet potatoes), not 'yams'.

Simple Carbs:

Gatorade
Waxy Maize Starch
Fruits

Brown rice is a staple of mine. The cooker is like an electric hotplate, although if you are in a dorm, people will know you are cooking.

Sweet potatoes are in the grocery store, they look like the orange yams, I find they taste better though. I just bake several of them at once and separate into tupperware.

I use simple carbs only during workouts, I buy the powdered gatorade in water with Waxy Maize and a scoop of protein, its cheaper and easier. I wouldn't just 'drink' gatorade when I was thirsty, its all sugar, thats what water is for.

An apple or banana pre-workout will help give you a boost.

As far as 'cutting' goes, it will all depend on how it fits into your macros.
