Question Used Diamondback 1150 elliptical vs new NordicTrack 990?

Hi. This is my first post. I am thinking of buying a used Diamondback 1150 elliptical for $850. It's a good very solid machine. I could buy the NordicTrack 990 for the same amount new but, when I look at it, it doesn't look like it's made very well ... although it does have an incline ramp which I like. I need advice from anyone familiar with both brands. Thanks.

Go with the Diamond back. It is a high quality machine. I have used both and owned the NordicTrack 990 for about two weeks before I returned it to Sears. The only problem I had with the diamond back were that the pedals were shaped strangely and I found them uncomfortable. If this is not the case for you, then go with it, it is a great piece of gear. The NordicTrack is not bad for the money, but it is not up to the quality of the DB. The only reason that I returned the NT was that I had tried numerous other machines, and own a previous model of the NT and the 990 just wasn't worth the extra money for me to upgrade. My old NT (VGR910) had a better feel and was acutally quieter and more stable than the 990. I think that you could be happy with both, but the DB is a better machine. If it has been harshly used and not maintained ,however, my answer changes.
