DAY 126 - Hungry?
Posted Tue, October 7th, 2008 at 09:58 AM by paulo_drummer
As I wrote yesterday, I tried the real HIIT today. I'm feeling like would be very difficult for me to go back doing the 45 minutes LISS I was used to. It's faster, funnier and make me sweat like a horse.
Here's what I did today using the elliptical machine:
2 minutes @ level 7 (warm up)
30 seconds @ level 15 (all out)
1'30" @ level 7 (recovering)
30 seconds @ level 17 (all out)
1'30" @ level 7 (recovering)
30 seconds @ level 17 (all out)
1'30" @ level 7 (recovering)
30 seconds @ level 17 (all out)
1'30" @ level 7 (recovering)
30 seconds @ level 17 (all out)
1'30" @ level 7 (recovering)
30 seconds @ level 17 (all out)
1'30" @ level 7 (recovering)
30 seconds @ level 17 (all out)
1'30" @ level 7 (recovering)
30 seconds @ level 17 (all out)
1'30" @ level 7 (recovering)
30 seconds @ level 17 (all out)
1'30" @ level 7 (recovering)
2 minutes @ level 5 (cool down)
I found something very interesting doing that. In the 30 seconds all out I was like "this will be the last one, I'm better quit, I'm not feeling good!". But about the half of the recovering time, I was like "You know what!? I think I can go another round!", and then I sprinted again. In the end I managed to do the entire 20 minutes program. But maybe I'm not going ALL out, because in the end I was feeling like I could do some minutes more in level 7. Need to work this out, though.
On the not so good side, I'm craving for carbs today. Coincidence or not, the days I do HIIT I feel like eating a lot of brown rice. I really don't want to spend another protein shake in cardio days, but maybe I'll have no choice than eat like in training days.
