DAY 78 - The Miracle Diet
Posted Tue, August 19th, 2008 at 10:36 AM by paulo_drummer
Have you ever heard about a diet which you need to eat more calories as you drop weight? That's what is happening with my diet. When I first get started in June, my BMR was 1.876, and my activity factor was 1.375. This gave me a maintenance intake of 2.580kcal, minus 643kcal for fat loss, so I created my meal plan based on 1.937kcal.
This week I'm gonna get my first Nitrean pack and decided to adjust the calories from the protein shake in my meal plan spreadsheet. Then I realized two things: 1) I'm not weighting 196 pounds anymore and 2) my activity factor had changed to 1.55, as I'm doing exercises 6 days per week. So I decided to redo the math to see what happen.
It turned out that my BMR now is 1.824, and with my new activity factor I got a maintenance intake of 2.828kcal. Keeping the same 643kcal for fat loss I got the number 2.185. Weird. But on the other hand, if this math is right, I'm eating less than I would. Someone said "losing muscles"?
I really don't know if this little difference would have something to do with the recent losing muscles issue, but it might. I've read some threads about that in the forum and people are talking a lot about not eating enough being related with losing of lean mass.
So here is today's doubt (as seems like I'm coming up with a brand new doubt everyday):
1. Should I adjust my meal plan?
2. Or, as long as I'm droping weight, should I keep the meal plan the way it is? And probably increase the fat loss?
