Ok.. I'm working on this lady's computer. I just installed MS outlook 2003 on a new HD & partition. I want to get the settings (like address book contacts & folders) from a secondary HD which contains all that information. (OS crashed on the secondary hardrive and was installed on the new HD). The information was not backed up into a little neat file that can be easily imported into the new installation of outlook. Any way to get that information? (sorry if this is confusing!)

are you familiar with .pst files? all of her settings....accounts, email, address books...will be saved in the .pst file.

do a search for outlook.pst or *.pst, then import that file to the new outlook

I had tried that.. Thats part of the problem. The lady didnt backup her stuff. I found one 'backup' pst, but it didnt do anything. Since the old installation is still there in its entirety on the other harddrive, there has to be away to do it besides using pst files.

Are you sure that all the info she wants is on the old hard drive? I would manually set up her account and connect to it to see if her address book and settings are stored on the server she connects to. You may have to contact an Admin for her company/service. Or, you could try to open the old copy of Outlook on the old drive, just to get the account info. Not sure if that would work or not.

even without backing up all of her outlook stuff, outlook saves it into a pst file by default. my outlook2k3 puts it in C:\Documents and Settings\user account name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst, which i assume is a hidden folder. good luck! :gl:
