Doesn't make any difference...
We need some support for our forums...
And I think John did a good thing

i can understand that the website and the forums cost a lot of money. but does he need it so desperately?
the text sounds worse than any commercial i ever saw on tv. but maybe there's a difference between german and u.s. commercials

you know, thats really unfair. John would not recommend something he didn't truly like. They contacted him and he said he would only put them on the site and promote them IF he really thought they had a good product- so now he has tried it, and he was impressed with the taste and the price. I tasted one of his shakes this morning and I was pretty impressed too.
It costs a lot of money to keep up this site and this board and there isn't anything wrong with promoting something if you honestly feel it's a worthy product.
It doesn't really matter what i say here, i guess, I just wanted to add my two cents.

John is like the guys from Penny Arcade (www.penny-arcade.com). They all only advertise things they like, and only in manageable ads that don't ruin the browsing experience. That's why I click on all of PAs ads, and will click through from this site as well, because clicks = happy customers = this site continuing on.

everyone needs to step off John's n*ts. i dont get why people are so critical of him when HE decides what HE wants to do with HIS site. he busts his arse, spends hella time on building and running this forum, spends crazy $ building servers to support the load on this site, doing daily motivational updates, etc, and people want to trip over a tiny banner? sheesh.... wheres the gratitude? i, for one, commend his decision to personally review ANY product before actually endorsing it. not many people have that sort of integrity, they just see the $, and say "yeah ill toss a banner up!" im surprised he hasnt been approached by random fat-burner companies to use his before and after pics on their products for BIG MONEY(granted he would tell them to cram their fat-burnerz where the sun doesnt shine!)

john, keep up the good work, dont let a few silly remarks spoil the fun!

This world is full of good and bad...

I believe in John...

Even if he makes some money out of it.. I dont care...
I dont care whether that product is really good or not..
He said he liked it... Thats good for him... I am not going
to go and buy it...I may buy it if he shows some results
after using it...Thats it.

But his website, these forums make 50% of my motivation.

Accept what is good for you.. neglect what U dont like...

Try to think positive.... :tucool:

Did I say 50%... Actually it is around 90% :flex:

I'm just glad John is starting to see some monetary profit from all his hard work and influence. You definitely deserve anything that people are willing to pay you for- you worked as meticulously on this site as I've seen people work at full-time jobs.

I have absolutely no problem with John advertising... I'm actually glad that he is. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to keep up with the operational costs of running his site and the message boards.

Hell, I'll probably try "all the whey" as soon as my optimum runs out. As with anything, I like to hear reviews of products from friends or other trusted sources before I go and purchase them. John's opinion is definitely one that I trust. Maybe I'll like it as much as he does, maybe not. If I don't, I just won't buy it again. In either case, the price is right and the shipping is cheap, too!

Keep up the good work John, we all appreciate it!

IMO John has done everyone a massive favour by putting up these forums and I think its fine to find sponsorship and advertise on the site as long as the forums keep running. I dont think John is the kind of guy whos motivated by money but I hope he makes a million bucks out of this site and his transformation - he deserves it. :claplow:

Corbint - Right on!

Since when is advertising a bad thing? It's not good enough that we have this great forum and someone like John to put it together, we can't have any ads on it either? Besides, whatever was said about the products was his opinion, and he clearly stated that. If you like some thing, wouldn't you tell your friends about it? And if you think he's saying it for revenue, there's a lot people who would disagree with you.

No one is forcing the advertising down your throat. You don't like it, ignore it.

Keep up the good work, John. :tucool:

sorry, i never meant to be unfair...
i'm very thankful for the work john invested in this website and there is nothing wrong with making money with it. i just don't like his text for today's news as it sounds like a bad commercial to me. but that is only my personal opinion and does not interfere with my admiration for john...
and i do believe him saying that he actually likes this product.

I'm glad to see John starting to get some opportunities to make some money for what he has done and is doing. Like others have pointed out, he has spent a lot of cash himself keeping up with his web page and forum.

I'll probably give All the whey a shot my self when my current whey is used up, the price looks very good, and I have heard 1 recommendation so far for the taste (make that 2, John and Lisa).

Hope to see that book sooner than later that he is planning on writting!

Jerry

the text sounds worse than any commercial i ever saw on tv. but maybe there's a difference between german and u.s. commercials :confused:Feel free to leave and not come back if it bothers you. I really don't give a shit. That goes for anyone else who has a problem with me choosing to endorse a product I truly believe in.

I've worked my ass on my main site and these forums. I've spent thousands and thousands of dollars of my own money on servers, software and bandwidth. I spend most of my free time answering emails and trying to help other people. I'm spending hundreds of dollars every month to keep the site running, and my costs continue to rise as my sites grow in popularity. I'm doing everything I can to keep both sites running and keep them FREE. I've never asked anyone for anything - not one god damn thing - and have even turned down several advertisers and donation offers from the people who visit this site.

You know how much I make from that ad? $100.00 a month. That doesn't even make a dent in what it costs me to keep these sites running when they are sucking up 25-35 megabits PER SECOND. It's simple: I love the product, and that's why the ad is there. Period. The $100.00 a month is nothing compared to my costs, but every little bit helps.

Posts like the ones above are beyond insulting to me. Why don't you both come to my house and shit on my floor for an encore? Next time think before you post.

To the vast majority of you who understand what's required to run these sites and keep them free, I really appreciate your support. These sites exist for you, and I'm happy to do it. Thanks for all the kind words. :)

For what its worth I didn't post the original message as any form of insult or anything negative.

I probably should of used a smiley thing to express that I was posting in a sarcastic light as in to say "WHO posted that message in the main board". Like a joke.

But truth is I was laughing at the post from the main board because it does sound like a commercial. I was just picturing John standing in a gym setting holding a can of this wey and reading that aloud ending with a nice cheesy smile.

I could use my special powers to create a graghical image of what I'm thinkng but I'll leave that to ... whomever it was that likes photoshop.

Seriously though I love this site and I applaud you on it and all your efforts.

Regards.
