These just came out. They are like the regular hot pockets but lean and made with whole wheat.

I had one the other day and they are really really good.
just wondering if they are actually healthy.

I'm guessing they come in a little box with 2 of them in there, right? If that is the case then double all of the information you just provided as far as caloriess, etc goes.

I know there are exceptions, but I don't eat anything that comes in a box. If it doesn't grow it probably isn't very good for you. JMO.

They are great if you have nothing else, over 1/4 of maximum sodium for the day though.

Actually it's 1/2 of the daily sodium. You have to realize that there are two servings here. The manufacturers expect you to just eat one of these little calorie rolls and save the other one for your next meal.

Yes, and they do so rightfully. You don't count every serving, you count however many you eat. If you have to eat the whole box, then that's you. There are plenty of people (actually, everyone I've ever known) who only has 1 of them at a time.

good once in a while, i wouldnt make it a diet staple, main reason is the processed bread, even though its "whole wheat" its still processed! and processing = bad! also the sodium is pretty high

With 24 g of protein and 7 g of fiber, I don't see how these things are that bad for you. Heck, even the fat content is reasonable.

I will be adding these to my shopping list.

Hmmm, they still seem a little "cheaty" to me.

Plus, I can't even picture myself fitting that into my daily meal routine during the week. But during the weekend, well, that may be another story--especially for a cheat meal :o

Good find, bro

Seriously... the negative effects in this case are negligible. Not every single thing you eat has to be straight from the earth or an animal if you want to lose weight. Trust me...

agreed with karate. i think a very big problem with these boards(which at the sametime is a blessing) is that people go a little overboard. Although several of us are trying to lose weight, and we really go to the extreme(for example consuming 40% fat, 40% protein, 20% carbs all pwo like i do). I think that a lot of the people here still have a life they want to lead they just want to make a few healthy changes. For us this may scream "uh oh" but for a person who could either go to mcdonalds for lunch, or have this, this is a very, very good alternative. Sometimes it is nice to have a break from the same food i consume everyday to have a healthy alternative. I would say keeping your mental health in good shape and consuming a hot pocket is far better in terms of overall health then eating nothing but flax, veggies, and lean proteins. Just my 2 cents. I apologize for this being rough i'm going on like 3 hours of sleep and am dying :p

I could not find it on the web-site, but what kind of preservatives might they contain? I know a lot of food items like that are filled with preservatives.

Other than that they look good and I will certainly be checking them out further next time I go to the store.

Thanks!

These look awesome, thanks for the post. I use to eat lean pockets a lot and they are very good. How does the taste compare between the lean pockets and lean pockets ultra? Can anyone whose tried them both give their take?

yeah i realise that, im not saying they are bad, just that i wouldnt go including them in your diet everyday, it would probly be better to make a chicken + cheese sandwich with nice grainy bread and fresh chicken

heh but im a perfectionist :D

I have had the meatballs and the supreme pizza.

The meatballs are the bomb. They taste almost too good. :spaz:

With those stats (assuming they are accurate) , I'd buy em - I have room in my sodium intake to spare. Checked in my local store today but we didn't have those yet. :(

Looks good, but I don't know about the description "soft whole grain crust", I used to eat hot pockets years ago but my favorite part was the crispy crunchy outer layer  but then again, that greasy flaky dough didn't do my body any good, so maybe a soft fiber filled crust is better!

I'll grab one next time i'm at the market and give it a shot, thanks for the heads up :tu:

I've eaten Hot Pockets, Lean Pockets and currently I eat Lean Pockets Ultra a couple times a week.

Bottom line, they are awesome! I honestly don't even notice much of a difference between them and the lean pockets, if anything, they're better. I've had both flavors (Pizza Supreme and Ham & Cheese), and they are both great!
