View Full Version : Halloween Candy and Post WR
A.VOID November 2nd, 2004, 02:41 PM OK, so how about a candy bar after your workout with your Protein shake? THOUGHTS?
My kids' trick or treat bowl is CALLING MY NAME EVERY MINUTE!
:D :eat:
NEdge November 2nd, 2004, 04:02 PM Sure, why not??? Nice to have a treat after all that hard work!
A.VOID November 2nd, 2004, 04:36 PM I JUST KNOW THAT THE THAT HIGH GI WILL DELIVER THOSE NUTRIENTS TO MY MUSCLES AND MAKE ME GROW BIG AND STRONG >>> :p
taffer November 2nd, 2004, 05:34 PM actually surcrose only has a GI of 65 because its half fructose :)
after a workout, its better than a regular pizza cheat, but worse than a healthy PWO shake
1FastGTX November 2nd, 2004, 06:57 PM That candy is not the best choice for a PWO meal, so you'd better just go ahead and give it to me. :p
rmu_teen November 2nd, 2004, 07:30 PM Though a balance bar or other protein "candy" bar should be fine, not one of those stupid snickers ones though.
A.VOID November 3rd, 2004, 09:53 AM YES, I made it through last night with only one snack bag of whoppers. 100 cals and a whole bunch of nutrients ;)
They aren't too bad. :D
These damn kids better eat that stuff up >>> I'M DYING OVER HERE.
Of course I have to restrict them to a couple a day. I have a feeling I'm going to be staring at that bowl through the New Year.
OK, no one's looking
>>> GET YOUR TWIX ON. :p
eltejano November 3rd, 2004, 04:31 PM uggh- there are bowls and bowls and bowls of candy/snacks/cakes/pies/junk all around the office.
I both hate and love it. I have to concentrate on not eating more than a few milky way snacky things a day. (or hour)
:d_eek:
billy_everette November 4th, 2004, 11:20 AM My kids received about 6 bags of candy this weekend. I sorted out the items that they would eat, which came to only half a bag. [My kids are not crazy about candy, chocolate, etc] I grabbed one of my empty protein jugs and some of the 5 1/2 bags of candy in the jug and took it to the office. Let say that my cubicle is now the 'water cooler' hangout. It's already day three and there is only 1 1/2 bags left!
Emilio November 5th, 2004, 04:37 AM yeah we have candy downstairs at my apartment and its a struggle for me. I've only had like 3-4 of those smartees 3 tab packs so far but its too damn tempting. And my roomate baked oatmeal/chocolate/pb cookies today. I had one just cause I remember how good they were. Sigh... now I have to watch everyone else enjoy them.. Oh well.. my gains are worth every bit of it.
billy_everette November 5th, 2004, 10:10 AM Hey, the fatter everyone else gets, the skinnier you look! :D
A.VOID November 5th, 2004, 03:20 PM OK, what's better >>>
A bag of Skittles or an Hershey with Almonds.
Both are snack sizes. We had these bags as extras that we didn't give out.
It seems like all the snack size candy is 100 cals. Take one and move away from the bowl. You can pound 3-4 of those quickly and really screw up!
I'm glad I'm bulking, but I still feel GUILTY!
:D
I love the Protein jug recycling use. I'm going to give mine to my son for a piggy bank. If he can fill up a 5lber then he can take me shopping>
billy_everette November 5th, 2004, 08:12 PM You can never go wrong with a small piece of dark chocolate.

pitty dark chocolate is horribly bitter with out all the added sugar :p
i think there is a better source of anti-oxidants which doesnt require you eating a ton of sugar :D
you could always get some fat-free, unsweetened dark cocoa, and add splenda
oh yeah... Hershey with Almonds is better
a cheat of savory beats a cheat of pure sugar, (taste wise, and guilt wise too :D)
i'd rather go a 24oz rump steak steak than a bag of sugar!
Southpaw November 7th, 2004, 02:00 AM I had a bag of Reeses cups and one of kit-kats....they are gone now and the gains can resume...it's wierd, i felt like i was gonna blow up 25 pounds by enjoying some candy, but in the end i still wiegh the same and still have my 2/6 of the 6 pack. I think, maybe, fat gain is similar to muscle gain in that it's all about consistency. Work out hard consistently and, over time, you gain muscle and vice versa. Once in a great while won't kill the ultimate goal. :tu:
