notice I just asked if people are voting or not...not WHO they are voting for.

(optional: If you are not planning to vote, why?) ADMIN EDIT: Saying why you are not voting invites political discussion. Yes or No only, please.

I voted this morning. Long lines - but it was worth it. Now P. Diddy, Mariah Carey, and that guy from the Neptunes won't kill me.

No, because I am not eligible! I pulled a nickel a Riker's for GTA back in the 90's.

Really though I'm not a citizen. I will not be able to vote until 2012 at the earliest.

Yeah I voted - It took 40 minutes. If I had a last name that began with A-F I would have been out of there in 10 minutes. I swear the P line was the worst.

Voted early a week and a half ago (so I guess I'd technically have to answer this poll "no").

There is no excuse for not voting. Go to it, people!

That's funny. Where I was, it was A-Fan that had the longest wait. I was in line for 30-35 minutes.

Everyone with "Fao-" and up was fine ... maybe 2-3 minutes wait tops.

Ugh ... you'd think they'd be able to adapt a little better.

Don't know about everyone else, but this was the most crowded I've ever seen the polling place.

I passed my precinct this morning. Lines were wrapped around the huge church twice. A neighbor said the wait was about two hours.

Glad I voted absentee. I don't have 2+ hours to stand around on a weekday. :tucool:

here in australia is the law to vote, if you dont its a $50 fine, repeat offences could land you in jain

although i encourage everyone in america to vote, as what america does also effects the rest of the world! even if voting wasnt legal in australia, i would still vote :)

OMG I never knew that!Me neither! It sounds like an awful idea. At least in the US the truly apathetic don't vote. Now, many who do vote still don't know a darn thing, but at least there is some option. In Australia it ensures that those who know a lot about issues have no more say than those who know nothing!

I'm debating it. I've been in class all day and my polling place is back in my home town. It'll take 40-50 minutes to get there which sucks since the place closes in an hour.

I knew I should've done the absentee ballot. :(

My wife and I voted today. We brought our 7 (almost 8) year old daughter so she could see/experience the process. We were in and out in 5 minutes. We talked about it with our daughter for about 10 more minutes after that.

Yup, voted about an hour ago.

My wife and I's polling place is about a 3/4 mile walk from our house so thinking that at 6 pm (with everyone getting off work) the polling place would be packed and parking difficult, we opted to walk there and get the exercise in the process. We got there and were in and out in about 4 minutes...still glad we walked though it was a good time to get some fresh air before a meeting that will keep me in my office for about two hours this evening.

Viva La Vote' ! :claphigh:

As an Australian I too have to vote and have questioned the system. It changes a lot of things.

In america you have to feel the passion to vote for someone, here we just have to decide who to vote for, which means the candidates don't have to get as much passion, they just have to be a better option than the other guy for the general public. The supporters don't have to be as fanatical and big celebration type events in the lead up are rare.

its 11pm and there are STILL people waiting in line to cast their vote....whomever they are voting for is irrelavant to me regarding this topic i'm just so happy the turnout is as big as it is right now.

some of the analysts are saying this may be the biggest voter turnout since the 60's! Thats very encouraging to me I dont care who you vote for.
