Thanks. Hort November 2nd, 2004, 08:33 AM Most nuts in moderation are decent. You'll usually hear almonds and walnuts touted as better choices. I usually have 1oz unsalted almonds with 1 C cottage cheese most days. I stress "in moderation" depending on your goals. Nuts contain "healthy fats" but it's still fat. 1oz (about 22 almonds) is a pretty hefty percentage of my daily intake. don_1987 November 2nd, 2004, 08:39 AM While your topic is about nuts, I just might as well ask, I tink that I'm allergic to peanuts, this include peanut butter, the peanuts causes me acne, but I do hope that thre are nuts that I can eat, I seldomly eat almonds or cashew, maybe I'll try them... I am also curious, which nuts has the most protein, with lesser fat and carb? And could you tell me, if I want to buy them, how should it be preapered? Should it be dry-roasted or baked? Thanks... Oh and by the way, a tablespoon of almonds or cashew contains how much fat, protein and fat? NEdge November 2nd, 2004, 04:58 PM Just in case you missed it in the nutritional info, it's good to add walnuts becuase they are high in polyunsaturated fat as opposed to monounsaturated fat. If you dont want (or can't easily get) the whole nut, most supermakets will sell walnut oil. I only recently discovered this and is seems like the best way to up my polyunsaturates, since most of the other good fat sources are heaver in the monos. |
