OK well I know that beer shouldn't be had if wanting to lose some weight, BUT like many people I do like to have a few pints... my question is what beer is better to drink? I've cut down drinking a lot but now I want to find a beer that isn't as bad for you, if there is such a thing?
I've done a Google but can only find beers in the US and I can't really find anything on beers over in the UK.

If anyone has any links or some info then cool! I'll keep on looking and see what I find...

Surprisingly, Guinness is one of the better beers to drink. It's lower in calories (around 120) and carbs (around 9). Plus, it tastes yummy.

OH MY GOD!

This is the best post I ever read on a Friday... I've been avoiding the godly beverage for the past months but you just convinced me I deserve a good pint of delicious, creamy guiness... TGIF!

Thank you!!

don't know if there's a Morrisons near you, but the one near me sells bottles called "Low C" - it's a low carb beer (doesn't say bitter or lager - I say it tastes like lager, my brother says bitter - either way it tastes OK)
they always seem to have it in at buy one get one free (about £1.60 for 2)

GUINESS IS KING!

EAT-DRINK AND BE MERRY!

I heard about it's suprisingly low cal count about a year ago. No need for light beer with Guiness around.

I REALLY wish no one had ever told me about Guinness being not as bad. I share your love!

The relatively low calories and carbs aside, don't neglect the negative effects of alcohol in your system. Regardless of where it comes from it seriously impedes your liver's ability to turn fat into useable energy. And if I understand correctly, the effects of a "binge" night of alcohol can carry over for as long as 36 hours.

Hate to rain on your parade

I've found that 4 lite beers (or Guiness' {YEAH!}) or a bottle of red wine (for the antioxidants of course) have about 500 Kcals. I like it as a "cheat meal" of Friday or Saturday evenings. Of course as it's been stated, alcohol has effects which are greater than just the additional calories (depressed metabolism, preferencial calorie buring, etc.) so don't induldge too often.
