Can anyone tell me why brown rice? I've been to the store and taken a bag of white rice and brown rice by the same company and compared the nutritional stats. Same portions and they do not look nutritionally any different (or not very noticiable).

Is it the White Bread/Wheat Bread principle? That all things equal, a slice of white bread is less healthy than a slice of wheat bread?

Is White Rice bad for you or something?

Any help or answers is greatly appreciated.

Is that counting just the macros, or vitamins/minerals as well? Just curious, I never checked these values. If they are better for brown rice (which I suspect), that's a big reason why you should choose it.

Brown rice has a lower GI as I know it. I think that's a big part of why people prefer it when making healthy diets.

Brown rice is 'likely' to have a lower GI, especially if it is the same type of rice from the same company (in this case it almost certainly will). Plus it will have a higher fiber content.
