When I saw this page I couldnt believe it, I had always thought that fatty people like me would always be this way (fat) I had never known of anybody that having the kind of work I have (system/network administrator) could have such a perfect body as John Stone has right now.

This website has given me the necesary support to mentalize myself to start my fat loss program.

As lots of you may know (specially John Stone) being a Sysadmin is the kind of work that makes you sit down in a chair for 10 hours a day eating all kinds of junk, drinking liters of coca-cola and eating pizza.

I must stop this situation because this is starting to affect my health and in some way my personal relationship with women.

So this is it, I want to end it :)

I have to start my workout plan with breakfast, meals, dinners and so on, does anybody recomend me a meal plan for starting out?, I know that if I dont plan it I will wake up next morning and eat anything that I have lying arround my house (specially nice things with loads of sugar or even 2 or 3 glasses of coca-cola).

As fas as I have read static ciclying is good for weight loss, what about non static cycling?, how much time should I spent cycling for a beginning program?.

Thanks :).

I have a very similar job (data entry - accounting), thats 8 hours a day sitting on your butt in front of a screen, and like you I also didn't think someone like me would be able to make such a drastic change.
My real fear was of going back to eating junk, and to quit exercising, it's happened before, my mind plays "tricks" on me to convince me to just take a break, just today... just eat that whopper, ooooh c'mon 7 slices of pizza, that's nothing man just ride the bike for an hour tomorrow. Then when tommorow came, I never exercised.

What I did was start out slow, instead of cutting out complete meals, of food I love, I just ate a bit less of it. For example, instead of supersizing my fast food combos, I just had them normal, and tried to limit them to a few times a week. Soon your stomach will shrink, and you'll feel full with less food. My advice is to take it slow, eventually eat 5 - 6 small meals a day to accelerate the metabolism and concentrate on healthy foods.

Cardio, like riding a bike, be it static or not, is the best for losing weight. Personally I get bored on a static bike, and usually do 30 mins of HIIT. When out on my mountain bike, I can stay out the whole day, it just keeps me busy and away from my PC and my games! Stupid gaming addiction...

As far as a meal plan goes, check out John's meal logs. You can use them as a starting point and tailor them to your personal needs. Just be sure to be consuming enough calories, and not too little.

As far as cardio goes, I'm really into HIIT at the moment, but there is still some debate as to what kind of cardio you should be doing, when, and how much. I recommend checking out www.bodybuilding.com for some good cardio advice. You can also look at John's own training regimen, which is pretty much what I've modeled my own program after.

I know how you feel, people don't realise how you can sit at a desk all day long and yet be totally knackered when you get home. my job isn't too stressfull (payroll admin) but does take a lot of concentration at times and i can feel totally drained when i get home, then have to pick myself up to do a work out hehe, but once i've done it i feel knackered but in an awake kind of way, i've alert and tired.

I came upon this site just "accidentally" and it really has changed the way I view things. Before I started reading and finally decided to do something for myself, all I did was sleep all day, sit in front of the computer, and eat junk food. I never exercised or cared about what I was putting in my body. And, what would have made it worse is my chosen occupation (still in college) is a SysAdmin (so you can see where I would have been heading). I've started making meal plans and exercising. I'm starting full on this Thursday, the 29th, so when my birthday comes around I can see the difference (I have a five-month plan, but hope to see imporvements before then). Anyways, I just wanted to chime in here since I seem to be in good company. Good luck to all the other people just starting or looking forward too!
