:( Hello guys. I have a question about fat burners. I decided to take xenadrine for about 12 weeks. I am not sure because I have heard that fat burners can lower my metabolism. I don’t have much weight to loose. Only 15-20 lbs. However I have reached plateau for about 6 month already and I have tried everything even hiring 2 trainers. Any suggestions?

Personally I don't like to do what I call "cheating" by taking a pill that is supposed to make me lose weight faster. Some people like that, but I don't.

Anwyay, as far as your plateau, we are going to need more information than you have given. What is your height, weight, age, sex? What form of excersize are you doing now, for how long, at what intensity? What is your diet like? How many calories are you eating per day? What are you eating and when are you eating it? This will help us show you how you can improve.

Well I am female, 24. My height is 5'4 and I weigh 132 lbs. I go to the gym 5 times a week. Weight training 4 times a week and cardio 5 times a week. I eat every 2-3 hours and 5 times a day. I drink a lot of water and my calorie intake is about 1200 to 1500 cal per day. I don’t have any problems with my diet. I eat very well and very clean. I cheat sometimes but nothing big. I generally eat carbs with the first 3-4 meals of the day, and limit my carbs in the evening to salad and veggies. I eat carbohydrates such as yams, green vegetables, brown rice, and oatmeal. I try to keep my protein intake between 1-1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight (per day).

My exercises include free weights as well machines.

• Day 1- Back
• Day 2- Chest, Triceps
• Day 3- Legs
• Day 4- Shoulders, Biceps
• cardio 5 times a week 30-45 minutes
I try to do cardio immediately following weight training, or first thing in the morning. I do 3 sets of 12 reps and 3-4 exercise per muscle group.

replace carbs with healthy fats other than post workout. I would consume my only carbs directly after i work out(dextrose and whey), and an hour after taking my post-workout shake(oatmeal, brocholli, chicken breast).

do cardio fasted in the morning at 65%-75% max heart rate.

Back to the question about fat burners, Xenadrine since the ban of ephedra does not produce much effect. It is basically caffeine and chromium/magnesium.

If you are going to go the pill route (like me). You can still get ephedrine (synthetic ephedra). Make your own ECA (ephedrine/caffeine/aspirin) stack. Works real good!
