Pre-workout typically refers to the high fiber and/or healthy fat/slow release (low glycemic) carbohydrate that appears to be optimal for fueling both intense weight training sessions and endurance sessions. Post-workout refers to the electrolytes and fluids needed after a workout, and more recently the hype over having protein and high glycemic carbohydrate immediately following a workout.
