View Full Version : 3.5 month lapse of pics
DeafNgari October 23rd, 2004, 02:00 PM I just thought I'd show everyone a few pictures starting with the first one being from the end of june at around 148 lbs. The one with the pants and belt was about 141-142 lbs. The last picture is back at 145.5ish. I never thought I could do this much in such a short amount of time :p Thought it might encourage some people because I know for me it helps. Sorry about some of them being slightly stretched... most aren't though.
Ludvig78 October 23rd, 2004, 02:19 PM Question?
How should I read the pictures are they all from the same time I mean three first in the three rows and the the second once and so on? Think you are more ripped, but don't see much other then that. Tell me if I am looking at them the wrong way?

DeafNgari October 23rd, 2004, 02:36 PM They go in chronological order left to right on top then left to right on the bottom. The bottom right picture is the last one (today). I certainly haven't changed a lot in terms of weight in the period, but all measurements have gone up quite a bit for the amount of weight change I experienced.
I've put 2 inches on my shoulders, 1.4 inches on my chest, lost 1.1 inches on my waist, gained 0.5 inches on my arms. Stuff like that is hard to tell in pictures though. I also lost 1 inch on my thighs and have put it back on but this time it is muscle.
jRS October 23rd, 2004, 02:53 PM My ten year old cousin came into the room to ask me something and she saw the pictures and said "Look at him! He's strong!!" You have a martial arts body. Your back and shoulders are getting bigger and it looks awesome. Real piece of art!

Haha  Thanks for the compliment. Lots of people tell me I look like I do martial arts. I use to quite a bit and plan on getting back into it. Right now my running really hampers my size though. I enjoy running at really high intensities too much to give it up though.
Ludvig78 October 23rd, 2004, 03:57 PM There is change from the first picture. You are doing good. When are you starting to bulk some on?

TaxiTodd October 23rd, 2004, 04:56 PM In the last set of pictures you look the most relaxed, but at the same time more cut and strong.
Do you run competitvly?
I would say you look more like a gymnist training for the olympics or something.
I have seen many posts from you since I signed up, but can't recall if you were ever overweight or out of shape?
Good Work,
Todd

DeafNgari October 23rd, 2004, 07:05 PM I do not run competitive persay... I run a fair deal and do an occasional race. It is more of a thing that is for me. I try to constantly improve my times as a competition with myself. I was never overweight. When I found this site I weighed 154-155ish and rarely did cardio. I lifted but without any direction. That was in the end of May. So I started serious cardio and planned lifting routines. Fixxed up my diet in June. Lost about 13-14lbs.
Ludvig- I am currently bulking but it is very slow due to the intensity at which I am currently running (5k runs in 18-19mins, 40ish mins for 10k). I am definately making gains mass wise, but refuse to give up my running to make it faster. My strength has gone up by leaps and bounds though. I am not too concerned about being "big." Ripped and fast are more my goals.
jgmx October 23rd, 2004, 07:36 PM great results!!! :tucool:

Awesome, man - just awersome. You have the physique that I want for myself - not huge but tight and cut. Keep it up, man and keep us all posted on your success. :tu:
adamc October 23rd, 2004, 09:53 PM Yep, like others have said, really great work.
MGB October 23rd, 2004, 11:12 PM Killer job. Would be interested to see what your routine is.
slush_puppy October 23rd, 2004, 11:44 PM Superb work, I see a big change and it doesn't look like you'vew put on an ounce of fat. It actually looks like you've lost more fat... amazing! I agree with MGB, I'd love to see what your routine and diet look like.

I posted a typical days eating a couple days ago in my journal.... there was a lot more bread in that day than usual but it gives a pretty good picture. I'll write up my current routine and my last routine too and post them in the journal.
Edit: Routine posted in journal.
chicanerous October 24th, 2004, 12:51 AM You look great. I feel you on the running, man. High intensity running is definitely best!
I would say you look more like a gymnist training for the olympics or something. I would say martial artist but definitely not a gymnast, a gymnast's build (at least one training for the olympics) would already be a lot larger.
You are heading in that direction however, especially if you really increase those shoulders, arms, and back.
We have similar builds. I look really bad with a shaved head though, lol.
escher October 24th, 2004, 04:57 AM Lookin ripped bro! Awesome!
Revlis October 24th, 2004, 08:14 AM I see a good change. You're doing excellent. Since I'm around the same height/weight can you tell us what your measurements are for legs/arms/chest/waist etc
Thanks

The weird decimals are due to rounding from metric measurements in the program I track em with.
Edit: Just saw you are from England... guess metric would have been better. Sorry... 2.54 cm per inch though.

klauslov October 25th, 2004, 05:48 AM Hi Griffin,
I am interested in your running routine. How far and do you run typically 5 or 10km and how many times a week?
I run 5km two times a week ~ 25 min and 10km once a week ~47min and then do Stationary biking on the days I lift for 20-45 min (depending on mood) approx 3-4 hours after lifting
Cheers
Klaus
durrus October 25th, 2004, 04:39 PM That is awesome! Any idea what your body fat % is?
Well done.
DeafNgari October 26th, 2004, 03:28 PM Klaus- I typically do 4 miles twice a week at a pretty quick pace 6.5ish mins a mile. I also do sprints once a week and a long run a couple times a month. I am not running anywhere near as much as I use to because of the time school and work are taking up and lifting.
This summer when I got my times down a ton, I was running 7-8 times a week. I would run 1 run at about 7-10 miles. 3 at 2.5 miles and then 3-4 at 4ish or so miles. It was awesome, and I'll be doing it again this upcoming summer.
