is it just me, or whenever i buy some gum i eat tons of it untill i run out! (which i do quickly)
i usually get a 3pack of sugar-free gum and eat like a pack a day then dont touch it untill i get around to buying more (not often!)
i see it as a cheat meal without the cal's! *mmm flavor*

"I do, I do"! :claplow:

(isn't that a slogan or something? that's the first thing that popped into my head when I read the title of this thread...)

anyway - yeah - I swear by sugarless gum.
not because I am a hardcore dieter, but because I like it for a "tooth brush" substitue after meals when on the go all day!

(and before I get people thinking I use it INSTEAD of brushing - I always brush my teeth morning and night - but when working a 12-15 hour day on a film set, or being out in a boat fishing all day - gum is a savour!)

Yea I'm hopeless with gum. I cant just have one peice at a time. I start off with one unitl 5 minutes later I've got the whole pack in my mouth. Its a good way to distract yourself from food and I remember reading in Men's Health that chewing it for half a day increases your Metabolism by 20%

I'm addicted to gum. I buy it in bulk at CostCo and take a pack to school with me everyday (sometimes the most interesting thing in my Calc class is finding out how many peices of peppermint gum I can put in my mouth).. But it totally helps me from over indulging in the evil foods and hey, having minty breath is a good thing.

Me too!

I eat a lot of red onion, and chili (with ground turkey/lean beef mix) is a staple in my diet, so I consider gum a professional courtesy to my coworkers!

I just finished a pack of Dentyne Ice Wintergreen: that stuff will knock your head off.

Schteevie: It was a slogan for Trident a number of years back (I believe).

"Who wants Trident? I do! I do!"

While I haven't had gum for some time, I have found that sugar free gum is an excellent way to curb cravings and ease hunger pangs while cutting. There is little to worry about as far as calories are concerned and whether it's the active chewing or the flavor, it tends to satiate you (me), at least for a little while. ;)
