Tuesday, last week I got my bf measured with a device which looks like a gameboy advance or something
here it looked like this http://www.hitecfood.nl/omron-kleur-small.jpg

It works this way:

1) enter your age, height, weight etc.

2) put your arms on the 2 handles(like those things when you calculate your heartbeat during cardio) and press start.

3) wait a few secs for a shock(didn't feel anything)

4) your bf% is .....

Well it said that my bf% is 13.2

then I measured again and it said 13%

Now my question is.. are these things reliable?

Not incredibly by any means. A hydrostatic test or a caliper test administered by a trained professional are your best bets.

I've done a caliper test about 4 weeks ago.
That time my bf% was 11% according to the calipers.

I'm currently cutting so I highly doubt my bf% is higher now.
If you ask me 13 sounds a little too high for me but 11 sounds too good to be true. It's hard to tell by the looks cause I can't pinch much fat on me but I don't have much muscle mass to pop out so I look like a skinny person with few muscles.
"SO BULK!" many people will yell that. But I've set a goal which is to reach <10% of bf for a visible sixpack.
On the other hand my ab(and other) muscles could be too small to be noticeable.

I am sure you will get volunteers to react to any pictures, you might post. The electrical impedance measure is subject to amount of hydration in cells and body. A true look at a mirror tells alot.

Agreed.... wholeheartedly i've given up on the measurements.. i just look in the mirror now..... I dont even worry about my #'s.. as long as the waist stays small and i'm gaining strength and watching the muscle grow, that's all i care about :)
