I cant get cardio done as early as I need to because of scheduling conflicts on certian days. How long should I wait after eating to get close to that "empty stomach" effect

Well, 4+ hours, but once you've eaten, unless you go all day w/o eating and do the cardio at night, it won't be the same.

Worry more about doing it than the specifics of empty stomach, intensity, etc.

It will still benefit me, even if its not on an empty stomach, right?

Most certainly. The idea of empty stomach is to get your body burning fat more quickly since its glycogen supplies will be more or less completed depleated. Doing cardio later will still burn calories and if Calories in<Calories Out... you will lose weight.

Absolutely. I have never done morning cardio. I can't even stand the thought of exercising in the morning! Yuck!

Me neither, I am totally incapable of doint anything really before having eaten in the morning. I can even get the most sickening feeling in the morning, if I don't eat as the first thing I do when I get up!

Agreed, cardio in the morning makes me nauseous + dizzy.... if i don't eat something.. at least a protein shake... I think as long as you don't gorge on food and then go do cardio you should be fine.

There is a rule of thumb that says fasting then excersising will burn up muscle as well as fat... I'd rather just have something light then do my cardio session.
