You know the ones. They're from walmart or most grocery stores. It's a hard cake cookie with icing on top. Current theme is orange icing (halloween). Damnation, somebody brought them in and I just had to. I don't even accept responsibility for this. How can anybody say no to these lucious creations? Argh, they are my favourite cookies!!!

Just think about how much they help your physique while you chow down on 'em. That's what makes me shy away. :)

Yea, it took me a while, but now I can turn away anything by simply pinching the flab that is left on my midsection. That always makes me feel fat and puts me off!

The other trick I use is to 'treat' myself to something less disastrous like 1/4 cup of extra Kashi Go Lean Crunch, or extra nuts in my yogurt if I don’t eat cookies etc..

If your workplace is like mine, then your officemates are probably secretly laughing and high fiving each other that they got you to submit to those cookies. Don't go to the dark side, Skoorb!

Those cookies are merely a vehicle to get the frosting to your mouth!
Just wait until the little one in your avatar gets wind that they're free for kids!

If your workplace is like mine, you probably had to elbow five people out of the way to get to the cookies and probably burned enough calories in the process to justify the consumption.

Bump to this one. It's how I deal with temptation. I think about how much treadmill time it takes to kill that cookie... and I drop it like a hot potato.

Damn! Thats exactly what I do. It's also great for motivation. I find I can push another 5-10mins on the bike by grabbing that fat.

I like to see it as an equation.

Eat the cookie = Joy of eating a cookie - Guilt from having eaten it = X
Don't eat the cookie = Pride from resisting + Satisfaction that you don't have to burn it = Y

If X > Y, then you should eat the cookie.
If X < Y, then you should not.

Quite often the guilt can be squared, when the extra cardio is not induced. A multiplier of Y can also be added, in case the extra cardio is induced even though the cookie wasn't eaten.

My adorable 4-year old nephew sold me some German Chocolate cookie Dough ("Aunt Cawy, this is Twistan...do you want to buy some cookies to help my soccer team??" Yeah right! I can say no to that!?!)
I made about 6-8 of those suckers...and I can say the first one or two were definitely worth it...but the next 3-4 were not...couldn't even taste them, just stuffed them in my mouth because they are there! there is a reason I stopped buying junk food!

 Anyone want half a tub of cookie dough?????? :o

firstly, ask yourself if you're hungry, if so, find something worthwhile to eat, if not... why the hell are you thinking about eating anything?

also, think about your goals, that helps deter me from snacking... on anything.

Not if one of the others is too. I suspect they aren't in your case though...

If you can eat the cookies and still have satisfactory results, I say go for it!

I am lucky in that I just live with one other guy in a two bedroom apartment so we just never bring junk food in. It has made more really resistent to it... although when my mom bakes me cookies... yikes. SOOO good. I've been known to down 5-10 in one day on a bad cheat day... but ehh you can make up for it

I was planning on going through the hunger, as I do most days, but a guy offered me a cookie, and I couldn't say no :) This is also why I don't keep junk food around the house.

Good question, but not such an obvious answer. I often feel like I still want to eat something when I'm not hungry. Sometime it's broccoli, sometimes yogurt or cereal, sometimes (although less frequently chocolate). Being hungry has nothing to do with it, it's as if my body just want's to feel absolutely stuffed!

Well, I won't admit how many of these cookies I've eaten today, but let's just say it's an improv cheat day, to say the very least.

Frankly, I don't feel well. I am sucking down some coffee now but I feel slightly downtrodden.

Well, I'd do it again, because by God those cookies were good. All five of them. Oops, I did tell. I had to sneak the last couple so that people wouldn't know that I was the one who raided the box :o

I feel your pain! There were cookies in my house yesterday -- how could it happen!?!? Yeah I had some and requested that no more come to the house  We will see if that happens. It is hard at my house because there is always some kind of yummy snack food -- Doritoes, Cheez-it's, Chex Mix, and it goes on and on -- but I can usually resist.

I know the feeling. It makes me want to bulk. But I just drink water and realize that there's no justification to do it.

I know what you mean. For me, the psychological cravings are a lot harder to get over than the physical hunger. Honestly, at this point, a lot of times I don't even recognize physical hunger and just eat on schedule. But I will suddenly want something even though I'm not actually hungry - there are times where I could crave something for days. The whole filling up on healthy foods/eating earlier doesn't help me at all because it's not the food I'm craving but the taste. Eating a big breakfast is actually worse for me because I tend to not be that hungry in the morning and doing so doesn't stop the evening munchies at all. I still tend to eat a little bit of something bad every day.
