View Full Version : what's my bf%?
tan_pao_wei Sun, October 17th, 2004, 03:50 AM Can anyone guess my bf% using the pics below?
The pics were taken first thing in the morning, without eating any food, so I look sort of "lean" compared to how I look through out the whole day when I have bigger stomach.
Lurifax Sun, October 17th, 2004, 04:10 AM Your a skinny guy.. Get some mass! You are no more then 12% bf.
Stop cuting and get pumping! Good luck!

Knubb Sun, October 17th, 2004, 04:40 AM I would say between 12 and 14. Something like that.
Sazuki Sun, October 17th, 2004, 04:41 AM I'd say 12/13%.
I would put on some mass first if you want to cut.
Do a 2 month bulk cycle, see how that goes, than do another or do a cutting cycle.
tan_pao_wei Sun, October 17th, 2004, 05:11 AM Are u all sure? But I can pinch a LARGE handful of fats on my thigh and stomach(as shown on the pics)! Anyway I chatted with Duckman and other than giving me advices and encouragement, he said the same thing too.
Reno_1ted Sun, October 17th, 2004, 06:49 AM 12%
If you add mass, taking the remaining fat off will be easier and also will leave you with a better look.
If you stripped down to 8% at your current weight, you would be too thin.

Thats where u store your fat by the looks of it. There is NONE on your shoulders and arms.

Highly subjective, don't you think?
Other than that, I agree with you. At such a low body weight, a head on cut would not really be adviceable. If you do a slow bulk, you might be able to shed some fat while building more muscle. It's not as impossible as some people say it is.
Reno_1ted Sun, October 17th, 2004, 08:26 AM I should maybe have put "a better look IMO". I feel that being 8% BF whilst having little mass is a bit like putting a doodle in an expensive mahogany frame. I realised this on my first cut, which is why i stopped at 10%, bulked, then went to 8%.
Im not at all saying this is for everyone. Once again, IMO.
rtestes Sun, October 17th, 2004, 04:13 PM Start pumping heavy iron! You are skinny, fat. 16-18%.
DeafNgari Sun, October 17th, 2004, 07:36 PM I'd say 15ish or so, but I would agree with others. Focus on gaining some muscle mass for a bit. A very slow bulk. If you eat right at maitence or just barely above and work out a bit you should be able to put some LBM on your frame. Good luck.
tan_pao_wei Mon, October 18th, 2004, 03:58 AM Ok thanks everybody.
From today onwards I gonna eat from 1800 to about 2500cal, which I think is still below my maintance level but I will see how is it going.
Good idea right?
don_1987 Mon, October 18th, 2004, 04:13 AM Hi there, just wanna say that your body composition look just like mine. After losing 25 pounds, I feel great with my new body, but you and me seems to have the same trouble spot. ;)
Currently I'm bulking too (cause I believe in the saying "More active muscles means more fat loss"). Anyway, just want to say good luck and I wouldn't worry too much while bulking, cause I believe no one can see te "flab" while your shirts on... Just start bulking, then cutting and then finally show off your new body. :tu:
I'm saying this because most of my friends here (bodybuilders) says that if I cut more, I'll be looking too thin eventhough I'll be ripped, and I can't be too proud of that...
By the way, what's your weight and height? Just curious?

Hi I'm 174cm. I think is 5'7. But I am quite scare to really go into a bulk and can't cut back in time for the Chinese New Year in mid Feb. Cos I will be going to visit my oversea relatives, and the last time I visited them is this year's Chinese New Year. I hope to surprise them that with only one year I can lose so muc weight, but if I can't cut back after bulking it's like I have to wait for one more year again to surprise them.

HAHAHA!!! we're having exactly the same mental problem... I also did'nt want to bulk cause I'm afraid that I can't cut the fat in time... But anyway, I'm a muslim and it's ramadhan now, so I am eating larger meals than I usually do... So I decided to bulk for 1 month, then probobly next month cut again and continue to cycle them...
Anyway, here in Asia, usually the poor or very poor people are very thin, that's why we should put some mass, and then cut so that we can seperate ourselves from the "very thin" people without mass. That way, we can be more proud of ourselves. And regarding to visiting your relatives... Like I said before, I bet you look good wearing shirts, so just don't take them off if you have'nt cut on time... :D
