just want to know what people feel about the different types of calipers, are they all reliable.
looking to get some, looking for a pair that are easy to use and accurate. what do people feel about the difference between digital and others.
mainly looking at FatTrak gold, and accu-measure. the price difference is not important, what is, is ease of use and reliablity.
thanks

I'd recommend hydrostatic testing @ a University or someplace just as professional. As well, do so once every 2-3 months or so.
Other methods/frequencies do nothing but to serve up some mighty head-games with all the fluctuations and room for error that these devices have. That coupled w/the overuse of these things (people using them every 3-4 days to try and guage progress) really seem to screw up the mind of the dieter, and sometime totally de-rail the entire effort.
This is pulled from my experiences w/a plethora of people. Use bodyfat readings as a periodical guage (like 4 times per year, once every 3 months) and spend the rest of the time working on your physique. Each time you go in, you should see results this way, w/out the head games.

i just want to be able to monitor and track correctly, i am not very fat or overweight.
basically what happened was that i was a good sportsman (while i thought so) i was into athletics and rugby.
then last year in july whilst in a rugby game i injured my knee (tore my anterior cruciate and some cartilage i still scored the try though :claphigh: ) i had A-level exams in oct/nov so i couldn't have the reconstruction until christmas. so other than rehabilitation i haven't done much serious exercise since july last year. they reccomend no contact sport for 11 months so i will soon be able to. the season starts in march so there is finally some motivation.
just before the injury i weighed 103kgs, at the moment i weigh 96kg but i am soft and a little flabby around the midsection.
basically i want to lose some of this fat to about 12% before i start a strength program at the moment mybodycomp puts me at 17.5%, not sure how accurate that is and just want something that is more reliable.
so i just want to get something that is reasonably accurate and easy to use.
thanks
