I noticed these on my back the other week. I thought they may have been scratches. The only thing is, they haven't gotten any better just worse. Anyone who might know anything, pelase let me know. I also have the same ones on the other side.

they don't look very natural, skin-colored, or concentric circles... maybe you were doing calf raises and the pads pressed those marks? I sometimes get them around that area if I don't move the creases in my shirt around

I think they are from the weight bench. I get those doing squats sometimes too.

i had them yersterday, still have the marks today ... kinda freaked me out, though someone scratched me and i didnt know lol.
Only thing i could think of was i had a bag across my shoulder and it was heavier than normal.

I get those same types of marks on the top of my shoulders from 45 degree calf raises. Not to worry, I am sure they are from some type of excersize you are doing...do you do any excersizes with pads from a machine or even a bar resting on your back/shoulders...that is probably it.

Look closely and check if you see a "grain" (i.e. fine lines) running perpendicular to the direction of the mark. That's a sign that it's a stretch mark.

The only thing I did the other day was seriously up my bench. I was wearing a tank top while I was benching. I am hoping it came from the seams against the padding. Thanks sooo much guys (and gals). I think you are right. Phew!

Yeah, I get weird marks like that from my leg press machine. My wife always asks me what those red marks are from whenever I take off my shirt.

I slept on a couch for one week b/c my gf didn't believe the marks on my back weren't scratches.

I get those All over my shoulders when I do squats on the machine and some from the calf raise machine, for months i thought it was weird having those, never did i know that machines would do that to me, i would wake up and see them in the mirror and would think im being haunted and ghosts are clawing me while i sleep or something!

Definately not stretch marks. I want to echo the other folks here that I get similar parks doing work in a calf press machine, or any machine where you support the weight on your shoulders with a pad.

My girlfriend was suspicious of them also :)

DITO on all of the above. I get these when resting the bar on my shoulders for squats...
