Hey, this has been kinda bothering me. I hear you're supposed to have like 5 meals a day including snacks, or somewhere around there. First off I'll never be able to eat that much regularly. Second, with the medication I take, I get hungry rarely. Like yesterday, I had not one thing to eat and went to bed fine as if I did. When I do eat something, it's usually tuna sandwhichs, and with all the crap I put on it, it makes it very high in protein only in one sandwhich. That's usually once a day. Before and after I work out, I take Superior Amino 2222 Liquid. And I try to drink a gallon of water a day, but lately I have been forgetting. Is the high calorie count very important? I'm losing weight rapidly, but that isn't my goal. I don't really see a change in my body or muscle mass. Oh yeah I usually eat an hour or so before I work out, I don't want to kill myself. Should I force myself to eat? I don't want to throw up or anything. One more thing, can I subsitute cranberry juice and grape juice(real fruit juice) with water? Sometimes I get headaches when I drink water. Any thoughts? Any advice would be good, thanks ;)

everyone thinks this when they start out, even i did, i was eating about 1200cal's when i started and was saying "how am i going to make this bigger" but after about a month of trial's i've finally boosted it up to 2100cal's
what you should do is have a look at johns diet, and some of the other other diets in the journal forums and start adding food week by week, ad about 200cal's a week, or whenever you feel comfortable moving up, you dont wanna make yourself sick
if your not eating and you are doing workouts, i'd say you ARE losing muscle
eating an hour before a workout is good, as long as its complex carbs and some protein, also post-workout nutrition is a must too
but concentrate on eating more right now, and drinking more water, remember to always have a drink bottle with you, that you can just sip on, and the water will disappear!

anyways good luck!

None of us know what medication your on (you didn't say, that's cool) and I doubt there are many doctors here.

Go talk to your doctor, tell them what's up, see if they can offer any suggestions. Come back with whatever they say if you'd still like our novice input.

Actually, I'm not just starting out. I guess I should just force it. I know what foods have protein and all that kinda stuff, I'm pretty educated as far nutritional facts, except how the process goes with your body. I can't really afford alot of the things I need seeming as all my money goes to transportation, but I'll see what I can do. I've noticed my bench has been going down like crazy, but I can do a crapload of pushups, which is very odd because it was almost completely backwards like maybe around summer time. Thanks for the help ;)

Oh I must've been in the process of posting while you were. I will do that, I think BOTH of my medications are diet suppressants, but that's not what they're for. If there are any doctors on the board, I could tell you what medications and possibly give me your opinion. Thanks again.
