I thought the exact same thing when I read James' list. I could easily make my top five all Cohen bros. movies... I need a top 50 at least. :)

The only one I can remember from the top of my head that I think is great is...

O Brother, Where Art Thou?

...and that's because I just watched it again yesterday

There must be something wrong with my memory or something :D

Seriously though, great movie! Those who haven't seen it: GO SEE IT! NOW! ;)

Old School
Super troopers
Office Space
Brain Candy - Cast of Kids in the hall
Big Lebowski - truely awesome

this is the best I can do with a quick look at it. I'd put Undercover borther up there but it just gets edged out by super troopers. How could people be leaving out Old school?

Looks like I have to check out Night at the Roxbury. And I have to throw a vote at Swingers, because it's so money and it doesn't even know it. Haven't seen it for so long though cause every time I think to pick up the DVD it's like 30 bucks!

How about these classics:

Coming to America (it's got Eric LaSalle!)
Big trouble in Little China (Jack Burton, one of the best characters of all time :D )

Lisa Stone

For me:

Movies:

1. Pulp Fiction - maybe not a comedy per say, but so, so many one liners - it's still my #1
2. Army of Darkness - B grade, but gold
3. History of the World Part 1
4. Monty Python - Life of Brian
5. Shrek/Office Space (Can't decide)

TV:

1. Black Adder 3rd Series
2. Simpsons
3. Ali G

That's about all I got for the TV.

Comedians (a bit more for the mix):

1. Billy Connolly
2. Rohan Atkinson
3. Eddie Murphy

Here's mine, no specific order

1. Waterboy

4. Scary Movie
5. Cheech & Chong, Up In Smoke

Like everyone else, I agree there is way too many to make any list complete but these are some of my favorites

Having trouble thinking of five favorites (though I can think of plenty that I like). Here are three that would definitely be in my top five:

Bottle Rocket
The Jerk
God of Cookery

Matt Gordon

I cannot believe this thread has gone on this long without Blazing Saddles being mentioned. Mel Brooks is a comedic genius. :D

March 9th, 2004, 02:30 PM
1. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
2. Office space
3. Trading Places
4. Moneypit
5. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
That being said I would also like to comment that "The Jerk" is a great pick. As far as B movies go you just can't beat "Army of Darkness" and "Big Trouble in Little China".

I thought about "Blazing Saddles" but I didn't want to offend :o

1. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

Ahhh... Christmas vacation, how could I forget. That movie is awesome. I'm working on a new non-lucrative cereal varnish that locks the flavor in and keeps the mositure out. :D

What, no Jack Black Flicks??

Saving Silverman is hilarious!

hmm... I'm posting for two people (LiveWire too!) so if I go over 5, that's why!

Repeats from previous lists:
American Pie
Dumb and Dumber
Office Space
MallRats
Princess Bride
Top Secret (was my favorite as a teen! Loved Val Kimler!)

For some new ones:
Galaxy Quest (ok, we went to see this after a night of drinking, it was really funny then! Our kids like it!)
Daddy Day Care (another kid friendly one, but still really funny!)
A Fish Called Wanda

Ok, there is a few. I'm sure I'll think of more later!

OH! Thought of one more: STRANGE BREW - Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas, eh? :D

Amino
March 10th, 2004, 12:44 PM
Happy Gilmore - "You're gonna die clown!!!"
Liar Liar... "I......... CCaaaaaaaan't LLLLLIiiieeeeee!!!!"
Pet Detective When Nature Calls "Wing-ed spawn of ssssaaattttttaaaaaaannnnnn!"
The Water Boy - "Girls are not the devil, football is not the devil..."
Spaceballs - "You didn't see that did you?", "No sir, I did not see you playing with your dolls again..."

I like over the top silly comedy... Specifically Adam Sandler and Jim Carey.
