I was doing free weights today when the back of my upper arm started cramping. I kept rubbing and stretching it but after about 20 minutes it just wouldn't go away completely and got worse if I tried to work out through it so I ended my workout early. Is there a way to make these things go away or is this something that you just have to hope goes away? Also, do you think it was caused by me doing something wrong with the weights - I was only using 10 lbs but I did several sets and I'm not very strong, though I got the cramp in my stronger arm.

Make sure you are well hydrated before your workout and even after. Make sure you are getting more than enough water.
This may help.

I've heard that bananas are good for keeping cramps away (potassium content maybe?)

Or just take a couple of potassium pills each day.

Magnesium too. Magnesium aids in nervous system function as well as increases nerve communication/transmission efficiency. Prevents cramping. And in doses of around 500+mg's per day, it's a natural anti-depressant.
