Here's a few pics Mandy took of me a few nights ago after dinner. We just happen to have to camera out so I said, "what tha'hell". I've lost 21lbs and I think my stomach is shrinking but it's not going away fast enough...

p.s. I have attached my the first pic of my legs. I usually don't because of the size difference in the two. This is do to my paralysis

You're looking much better. Fat loss is a slow process so don't get discouraged. Keep plugging away and you'll get there!

I shave. As far as the hair on my head, I'll keep growing it. I either want a shaved head or long hair and I can't shave it. I've had head surgery several times as a kid and have a hole in my head. There is an indention(sp) there so if I have no hair, it's very visable. There was a steel plate there but after graduating from HS, my doctor removed it b/c my body was rejecting it for the 3rd time.

Thanks for the encourgement. When I first began my program, I consulted a friend of mine who has been lifting for 22 years and he said to not expect to be cut until next summer. Then I see John and he was cut in 6 months. This is what discourages me. I guess Cris was right though.

Dude, John is John. You're Mick. You shouldn't be discouraged by others that did something faster, when you're doing so well. If there's something I learned from trying to lose fat, it's that you can't expect it to happen fast.

I guess that didn't come out right...sorry John :p I guess I had my expectations too high...I know it'll happen though. :db: I've notice a lot more muscle in my back and shoulders not to mention my chest. I'm very excited about the fat being gone :jumping:

You look great man.
Do you notice any change in how you think, or any other life changes?

Awesome work, Mick, you're looking great! The stomach is almost gone, you've got a lot more upper body muscle and tone. Keep doing whatever you're doing! :tu:

To be perfectly honest, I think in the side view, I was sucking in a little.

As far as my attitude, I'm not sure if my self esteem is improving much yet mainly b/c I don't have a flat stomach yet. But it has improved some b/c as you all know it takes a lot of dicipline to work out and eat right. How can your esteem not go up?

Thanks Danny. I think about it now and where I was in Febuary. Hell, I've only been on a regualr cardio program since July. In another 3 months, it should be pretty much gone! :claplow: :db:

you've made it past the point where people quit, and go back to their old ways. You WILL reach your goals, and you HAVE made good progress. Dont question yourself, or forget it! You've got your mind in check, so follow the saying "mind over matter". Keep us up to date on your progress!! :tu:

Well, I don't know about most other people, but in my pictures I'm trying to flex my abs so hard that I almost get a head ache :) so a little sucking in isn't a problem!

Self-esteem
My personal philosophy on self-esteem is that productive people are happy. If you accomplish something, you generally feel good about yourself. That's like base-level self-esteem; the belief and proof that you can manage your own mind to get things done. An entirely different and higher level is when you are focused outside yourself, on others. Attempting to do (not just think about doing) useful things for others most of the time produces a whole different level of self-esteem, happiness, quality of life.

Anyhow, good luck. I'm sure you'll make whatever your goal is.

Being in service to others and doing things that take a lot of dicipline is what makes me feel better about myself. People are usually amazed when they get out of self and are in service to others. The end up w/a wonderful feeling.

Hey, I seen several stars by this post...what does this mean?

Mick, when doing crunches and leg lifts, I want you to try something. Do them very slow! When doing them, take ten seconds to move up and 5 seconds to return to start. Without stopping do as many reps as possible without rest, breath easy, don't hold breath. When you can do 12 reps, start another set after two minutes rest.

Do them slow and controlled.

I'm not sure how to figure them. Can someone assist me in this?

I do eat right at 1772.5 cal and 137 grams of protein. I'm on a 500 cal def.
