Work your neck!!!!
I have really seen a difference in symmetry and tone since I have started to work my neck as a separate muscle group. It is true that trap work and other upper body exercises will hit it a little but to actually isolate the neck makes an amazing difference.
Here are some ways to work it. I hit it at least once a week. Sometimes twice depending on how I feel.
First off, go light and go slow!! ALWAYS stretch it out. Simply look up,down, left, right as far as you can go each direction for about 10-15 seconds each.
Your neck responds very well to any extra work placed on it. You don't have to strain it.

The safest exercise is probably the forced resistance. Simply place your palm on the side, front, or back of your head and push/pull. Resist the movement with your neck. This will get you used to the feel of the neck muscles.

Ok, I like the harness the best. It can be picked up for about 9$ almost anywhere. You can sit and lean over or stand and lean over to do this.
Simply place a weight on it and put it on your head. Look down and then up, that's it! I do 12-15 reps. I never max my neck out!! Pay attention to each lift, your muscles should get tighter and you will feel the back of your neck start that burn but you should not feel ANY PAIN!!
If you have full movement of your neck you can also perform a circular motion with the harness on.

Other methods are:
On a flat bench simply lie back with your head hanging over. Place a weight to your forehead and lift up. Your shoulders should stay on the bench. Flip over and do the opposite. Hold the weight to the back of your head and look down and then up.
Anyway I hope this helps. Oh, I only do 2 sets, maybe 3 at the most. Your neck will respond, trust me.

And I thought the best way to look powerful was to wear a cape and carry a sceptre.

Seriously, this looks good! Thanks!

Without pictures how do we know you actually look powerful with your manly neck? You might secretly have a skinny neck and not look powerful! :p

The harness looks absolutely ridiculous, but I still want to get one to hit my neck.

Anybody know a Swedish store that sells it? Sweden generally bites when it comes to exercising equipment.

Very true......

Also, the harness does look quite stupid, I close the garage door when I am using it!
As far as harnesses in Sweden, heck if I know. They are very light so getting one over the net shouldn't cost much in shipping.
The weight on the forehead works good too, though hanging my head over the bench like that and moving it up and down makes me a little dizzy. At some point I am going to stop mixing the vodka in with my water. ;)

I tried the head/neck harness. I guess it must work for many but I don't get a good feeling from it in my neck so I'm experimenting with different ideas and one idea is to modify my old full size motorcycle helmet by adding hooks to it so I can attach it to a cable machine. Another idea I will try is lifting the roller pads on a leg curl machine with my head. I have a flu/cold now so I am not currently exercising but will try those ideas later.

The problem is that most companies in the US don't ship oversea. If you know of any company that would ship to Europe, I'd appreciate it greatly.

I actually tried that weighted neck excercise about 6 months ago. Worked it into my routine for a few weeks before I got so burnt out on everything that I quit lifting for about a month. I never got the chance to see results but you can definitely feel it!

Ahhhh I love this board! I've lifted by myself for 4 years, it's awesome to see people who do the same stuff I kinda taught myself to do. Now I know I'm not stupid for being creative. :claphigh:
