Hi, Im new here, I began going to the gym before starting university and lost 2 stone and maintained it at my time at uni!!! However since then I have been traing for football 3 times a week and have put back on half a stone! I was suprised as I thought that I would continue to lose weight especially with the type of training I was doing, I am now 168lbs!!!!! Im starting back to the gym again and am still training 3 times a week for the next month or so. I watch what i eat but sometimes perhaps dopn't eat enough, but am afraid of over-eating! I would love to get down to 140lbs. Any tips?

If you're unsure about whether you're overeating enough or not, maybe you want to try keeping track of your calories for a while. Go with the rule of thumb to eat 10 x your body weight (in pounds) to lose weight That would be approximately 1680 calories per day for you. If you keep track of what food you eat during the day, you can use fitday.com to make sure you didn't over- or under-eat. Even better would be to make a plan for what to eat that hits your target calories and stick to that plan. After a few weeks of this, see how your weight has changed and make adjustments if necessary.

You have probably gained muscle in your legs from running so much for footie. You might have also started eating more because of the energy output. Make sure you are eating good clean foods.
What does your workout/diet look like on an avg week?
Man. I wanna go play footie. (sniff, sniff, cry)

My average diet is,
BREAKFAST 8am- I used to skip breakfast as i was always in a hurry but have made the effort to make time, I usually take a piece of fruit or a bowl of cereal.
LUNCH 1pm- usually a sandwich and a piece of fruit
DINNER 6pm- normal dinner, potatoes, veg, meat etc.
I also try to drink water thoughout the day put probably dont drink enough.
I train twice a week for 1 1/2 hrs and have started back at the gym this week I gonna try and go at least twice a week and Im gonna go swimming to.
I wish it was muscle that ive put on but i think its not as i feel my clothes are tighter although thank god i can still fit into them! Thanks for your help!

I would take a week and really monitor your caloric intake. You may be eating more because your activity level increased, but you may be eating more "dirty" food instead of clean causing you to gain weight.
You probably need to get a better handle on exactly what you are gaining - get some body fat measurements.
If your body fat is up, add some cardio a few times a week in the mornings on an empty stomach and make sure you are eating clean.
Also, you should be eating about 4-6 times a day. Eat less more often and your energy will be up, you won't binge eat, and you will feel tons better.
