First off, I rarely consume any simple carbs (sugars) in my diet. Lately, I haven't even been eating much fruit.

Lately though, I 've been having cravings. Lucky for me, we don't really keep anything good around the house......until last night.

I see a nice fresh bag of Oreos sitting on the counter, so I figure, "sure, you've benn good, 'go for it' "

Let me tell you, a sleeve of those things goes pretty fast !!

Then I look at the nutritional info.....

OK, calories 160...expected that...all good things come at a price.

Serving size: 3 COOKIES !!!!! ARE U KIDDING ME ???!!!

Man ! I blew 700 calories in about 3 minutes.

What a rip !! Never again (well, maybe...)

That's an hour and a half on the eliptical..!! They aren't THAT good !

So good....but so evil, those things. :o

My name is Roger and I'm an Oreo addict. It's been four days since my last Oreo.

I share your pain, my brother.

I get my Oreo fix in a Dairy Queen Blizzard weekly. It limits the number of Oreos I stuff down my gullet while combining the two greatest things on Earth - ice cream and Oreos.

I don't keep them in the house. If I did, hehe... well, let's just say that fitness as I knew it would be out the freakin' window.

Low-carb sabotage!!!

The low carb fad is endangering the existence of your traditional Oreos! (http://www.healthylivingeating.com/Health4_News07_04/Health7.htm)

In three to six months, Kraft Foods Inc., the nation's largest food manufacturer, will roll out 100-calorie single-serve packages of such snack foods as Oreos, Chips Ahoy, Cheese Nips and Wheat Thins.

The snacks, which will be labeled "Nabisco 100 calorie packs," will each have 100 calories, 3 grams or fewer of fat, no trans fat and no cholesterol. The Oreos, Chips Ahoy and Cheese Nips will be reformulated to meet these nutritional guidelines; for example, the Oreos will have no creme filling. The company is calling them "thin-crisp versions" of the original product, says Kraft spokeswoman Donna Sitkiewicz.
Ok, no trans fat is good, but NO CREME FILLING! You've just completely de-oreo'd it! Hell no!

WTF is an Oreo without the creme? These low-carb/ketogenic nuts should be beaten unconscious with a loaf of white bread.

hehe no wonder americans are so fat, so easy to overeat!

my friend went to america for 6 weeks (im in australia) and he says its impossible not to gain weight while you are over there! he gained 6kg in 6weeks, and he walked everywhere! took the subway twice, and a taxi once
he has lost it all since he came back, but he said the food in america is just so damn bad for you, oh yeah, every candy bar has some form of peanut in it :D

also he said that you guys use HFCS in everything instead of sugar, here we just use plain 'ol sugar, i've only seen HFCS once, and that was from some overseas import (had lots of asian words on it i couldnt read :D)

My last fix was last friday night... a large order of caramel oreo icecream at a place here that makes their own icecream... it was almost... no wait it was euphoric.

We've recently tried a new tack. We bought the crappy generic Oreo wannabes at the store for our kids post-lunchtime snack. We figured- "They don't care and we will be so disappointed in the taste that we won't want more than one at a time." Well, we still scarf them down (just with a frown on our face) and now the kids say "Dad, these Oreos aren't very good. You can eat them." :(

Ever have the ones that are peanut butter and chocolate centered? I don't eat Oreo's, or practically anything like them for that matter. I had 3 of these odd peanut butter/chocolate cookie cracker items the otherday, and I was taken with their ultimate tastiness.

I will do some more testing at a much later date... as late a date as I can make it. :D

Oh yes, oreos. Not only are the extremely fattening, but look at the ingredients also :

Ingredients: SUGAR, ENRICHED FLOUR, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN OIL, ...

No further quiestions.

I wonder how good some low-fat oreo cookies (no centres) or oreo cookie knock-offs would be churned together with some vanilla ice milk... maybe some homemade ice milk made out of vanilla whey powder and skim milk? (just basing the idea off of my Protein Plus milk that I've gotten, which has extra whey and is creamier).

Note to self: buy whey...

I'm not touching Oreo's. I can eat an entire bag of em' myself with some milk. They are good but not at all worth it. I would rather eat some boneless buffalo wings!!
