...which ever area it is i've worked feels like jelly for the rest of the evening, for example today I did bench presses, dumbell flys/presses, and dips and I can barely open a door. Then the morning after I'm in agony.

Has John and the rest of you veterans been living in agony every day for the last year+ ?

I always hope to be hurting like that for at least a day or two...
It's just your muscles adapting. Not too long from now, you'll be trying to get that soreness again. I promise...

Learn to love that feeling. You should get it for the first couple of weeks, every time you change your workout.

It'll go away in a few weeks, most likely. Unless you change your exercises up a lot.

try to stretch real good after the workout, that can help at least a bit.

Drink lots of water too...I dont know if it really does anything, but It seems to help me a little.

Edit: Oh.. and lots and lots of sleep after a good workout. Its when your muscles do alot of their repair work.

Echoing what others have said: It will go away and you learn to miss it...;)

Hehehe, on one hand I miss it, cause you feel like you've "done something," all powerful and satisfied (if that makes sense).

But then again, why would I miss limping around, having trouble going up the stairs and washing my hair and back!!!!? :p

But then again, why would I miss limping around, having trouble going up the stairs and washing my hair and back!!!!? :pI hear you on the second sentence, showering up after a good jolt on biceps or triceps is bit of a pain, but the first sentence is the one for me. If I don't feel sore after the exercise, I start to question whether I really gave it my best shot or could I have worked even harder. :tu:

By the way, after I started putting dexterose to my PWO, I could almost swear that the DOMS has noticeably gone down. Of course I also upped to carbs from 30g (malto) to 60g (50/50 malto+dex).
