I really didn't realize this until recently when I went out for a big celebratory lunch at work. There is a wonderful side benefit to eating 6-7 small meals per day versus the old giant lunch and giant supper only days.

NO AFTERNOON SLEEPINESS!

You know that time in the afternoon after your gigantic lunch of fat and carbs when the dramatic insulin variations cause you to just about fall asleep in your chair at work? What do the advertisements tell you to do to combat that feeling? Have a Snickers of course!

When I felt that last week after that big lunch out, I realized that it was the first time it had happened in MONTHS. I guess I had not recognized it until it came back.

For those of you who have committed to a good diet and intelligently limited calorie intake, don't forget to space them out during the day. It keeps that metabolism going constantly and you don't get that dreaded lack of energy in the afternoon.

I've noticed that I can't even remember the last time that I got that gross "omg, I ate too much" feeling. It's pretty similar to the feeling of fullness that makes you want to sleep, but this just makes you feel sick to your stomach. I used to have a lot of pizza lunches out where I would eat 4-5 slices before the "I'm full, stupid" message got from my stomach to my brain, and I would sit in my office for an hour afterwards thinking, "I'm never going to eat that much pizza again" only to do it a few days later. I haven't had that feeling in many many months, either.

How about when you decide to have a cheat meal and figure out half way through that you can't finish it........amazing!!

I'm noticing that more and more as well. It also seems that the bills for eating out are getting less and less expensive, hehe.

The one downside (at least for me), is that if there is no possible way for me to eat for 6 hours, I get pounding migranes. It is especially bad when travelling, and there is no opportunity to grab small snacks and meals.

I am somewhat hypoglycemic, and that could have an effect on it too.
