View Full Version : Beginning...again

Hello. I've been lurking for quite some time, and decided that it's about time that I posted.

I used to work out quite regularly until about two years ago. Unfortunately due to various factors I haven't seriously worked out since then. I've finally found a gym in Osaka that has a both a nice set of free-weights and a price that my English teacher salary can afford. If you add to that the fact that my pesky shoulder injury is on its way out (if you're doing martial arts and you don't know how to flip, don't try!) it's obvious that I have no excuse not to get back into it. I've even opened an account at fitday.com to track my food intake (something I didn't do very well before).

I'm treating this new beginning as a first beginning. I know perfectly well that I can bench press my own weight (60kg), but I'm starting all of my lifts really low.

Now, my question is, in this situation should I wait for a month or so (until my body gets a bit used to the new way to things) before I officially go on a bulking cycle? I'm looking to put on quite a bit of weight. I don't forsee any problems with this idea, but it's been a really long time since I've worked out, so there might be something that I might be missing. I'm all set up to eat like a crazy monster as soon as possible.

I'm a small guy (155cm), so I'm thinking that a long-term goal of 70kg and 10-12% body fat is reasonable.

As soon as I get a scanner, I'll have some pictures up. What a great way to track progress. I wish that I had thought of it, myself.

Anyway, that's my introduction and question.
Thanks.

Very well, then. I'm actually eating as I type this, so I'm a little ahead of the game. Thanks for the reply.
