View Full Version : The "It's college and I'm lazy" challenge!
Marcman November 10th, 2004, 09:54 PM past few days have been pretty good for me, although i dont think im eating enough. oh well..
today i had a turkey sandwich and pickle for lunch, 1 cup cottage cheese for snack, grilled cheese for snack #2 and i just had a salmon filet, probably about two cups steamed veggies and a small handful of almonds, maybe 1/8 of a cup
im noticing that the more veggies i add into my diet, the more full i get. Ive been eating a LOT of veggies and its a much bigger full feeling than if i fill up on crap, so i think im going to try and keep this up.
yesterday i had peanut butter and celery/carrots for snack and that filled me up like crazy too. steak + 2 cups of veggies last night and i was done. i dont know if ill be able to eat before i go to bed. we'll see how this new found fullness secret affects my weight :D now then, need to go buy vegetables in mass mass quantities. Sam's club, here i come!
tensdanny November 10th, 2004, 10:22 PM :bb: i had a kickin' day workin' out today. it was leg day, and i pounded out squats until absolute failure, then i checked my ego at the door and squated some more. i then proceeded with calf raises up the wazzoo.
diet has been great again thus far today. it is getting easy to eat clean. the only thing i really don't enjoy is taking the shot of flax. i really should start doing that twice a day. that would make my progress even better i think. flax is really gross, but diet coke with lime makes a darn good chaser. great thing is a 20 ounce bottle lasts a week then too.
DeafNgari November 11th, 2004, 02:52 AM Things are going great here. Im up to around 147. Ive gained a nominal but slightly noticeable amount of fat, but I am thinking I'll bulk for a long while. I've only put 1/4inch or less on my waist in adding 5 lbs :D
Marcman November 11th, 2004, 01:22 PM WOOHOOO!!! Today I weighed in at 194!!! Lowest I've been in god knows when, probably 5+ years!!! So pumped.
I think stopping on the cardio completely, as weird as it sounds, really helped me out. I was already at a large calorie deficit and I think i was over doing the cardio (700-1000cals burned a day). Whatever the case may be, I'm really happy and excited. Expect some new pics soon!!
DeafNgari November 11th, 2004, 02:32 PM WOOHOOO!!! Today I weighed in at 194!!! Lowest I've been in god knows when, probably 5+ years!!! So pumped.

Congrats man!!!!!!!! Just goes to show sometimes less is more.
Marcman November 11th, 2004, 03:27 PM progress is progress, but i can still grab a fistful of fat on my love handles and tummy. do you think that will disappear with more weight/fat loss or should i try and change up my ab routine or something? my gut still pudges way out when im not flexing/sucking in which leads me to believe maybe i have little or no core muscle? oh well, hopefully i can keep this up
so far today i had my workout and ate a turkey sandwich and a pickle. time for a snack. im thinking protein/fat sounds good :D peanut butter, almonds, carrots and celery! yum!
tensdanny November 11th, 2004, 06:21 PM lower your body fat and then see. if you can reach 11-10 percent and have a spare tire sitll, then i'd rethink your ab routine. it takes time!
jgmx November 12th, 2004, 12:29 AM so far so good!!! its been almost a month....
today i went to get some groceries :tucool:
tensdanny November 12th, 2004, 01:33 AM today i absolutely fried my delts but the diet wasn't perfect. i'd give today a B for a cutting phase. lots of healthy fats! :-)
i got my orange all the whey blend and it is delicious, the best protein i've ever tasted!
karatetricker November 13th, 2004, 11:44 AM Okay, well it looks like Justin has some cutting to do. I weighed myself this morning and I was a wonderful 168.5 lbs. Like 5-6 weeks ago, if you recall, I was 161 lbs. The freakiest thing is, I have NO IDEA where this weight is coming from. I am VERY honest with myself and if I see fat, I see it. However, I really don't see much fat gain at all! I mean, my waist has only gotten maybe .25" bigger, at most. The only other measurement I keep up with is my bis and they have increased from 14.25" to a touch over 14.75" since the beginning of the semester. Maybe I've added some muscle mass? Who knows.
Anyway, regardless, I've been eating like complete shit, you have no idea. I know I eat TONS of food around the holidays, and then I'm going to Italy for 4 weeks where I will be doing NO exercising probably and a lot of eating. To prepare for this, I am going to attempt a cut period until winter. I will still be letting myself do whatever I want on the weekends, but during the week I intend to be strict.
I know this information is useless, but I needed to write it somewhere to keep myself in check. I'm not going to go nearly as crazy as I did last semester, but I am going to make a conscious effort to lose about 8 pounds.
Wish me luck.
otnemem311 November 13th, 2004, 04:09 PM I too have been eating horribly. I truly know it's because I don't have the desire to get any thinner right now. I still work out, but I haven't seen much mass gain, it's been pretty slow. I finally upped my bench last week, I'm at 145 for sets now, but it's still really f'ing heavy. Also, until I get this job in my school's library (hopefully), I really can't worry about food...buying healthy food is so expensive to keep up with, and I just don't have the money right now. I think for me to get back on track, a few things would have to happen:
1. More money
2. A real, tangible goal
3. No more holidays
4. Avoiding the sweet sweet goodness of my neighbors' food
Until then, I can only hope that my body stays at 160 like it has been. My ultimate goal is to get back to 150. Also, I cannot wait until I finally climb the gray path on the rock wall at my gym :D I'm almost there, just 4 panels from the top.
Climbing the rock wall has got me thinking, for me to get better, I would have to climb 3-4 days per week, but would this be overtraining? I know my arms would get HUGE if I did it more often, which makes me wonder if I work hard enough in the gym in the first place. hmm, enough pondering, I'm off to the gym. Have a good weekend everyone :tu:
tensdanny November 14th, 2004, 04:20 PM alright, this weekend i have eaten pretty poorly. However, i think i have kept my calories is check. my mom insists i eat her cooking(homemade pizza, swiss steak and potatoes) when i am at home. oh well, i will eat perfectly clean for two straight weeks now, then be set for thanksgiving. i wish progress would come faster.
DeafNgari November 14th, 2004, 09:11 PM I let myself eat a couple meals I normally wouldn't this weekend. Can't say it bothers me. I enjoyed them :D just like I'll enjoy my healthy food tonight. Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I know I played way too much Halo 2 and Fable... my friends got Everquest 2... gulp... im doomed to play it now at some point. I played the first one for just over two years starting its first month back in good ole 97 (did I mention I am a geek at heart?)
Marcman November 15th, 2004, 01:28 AM haha. the past two weekends people have been visiting me, so ive been eating TERRIBLY. this weekend was just as bad. I think i need to start my cardio again, maybe not so much this time, to get rid of the last 5-10lbs. Hopefully I can get back on a good schedule.
DeafNgari November 15th, 2004, 01:47 AM I think i need to start my cardio again, maybe not so much this time
cross out that maybe man....
jgmx November 15th, 2004, 09:55 PM so far so good... its been a month and ive gained 4 lbs already :tucool:
i had my cheat day on Sat  , i ate a hamburger some fries and ice cream  ... now here comes the next month :db:
tensdanny November 16th, 2004, 03:21 AM so far so good going over here. bed time peace.
tensdanny November 16th, 2004, 10:53 PM i've had two awesome workouts two days in a row. diet has been going really well also.
what is the sauce made out of in sweet and sour chicken. i had maybe 2 cups full of chicken today, and didn't have any of the rice with it. i don't think it could be too bad. I figured 2 cups chopped would be like 600-700 calories max, and it was yummy!
otnemem311 November 17th, 2004, 12:58 PM Alright! Today, for the first time in two months, I WILL eat clean...I need to get back on track. Today is the start.
I'm off to the rock wall later, woohoo! Gonna climb that gray path to the top, or at least one panel higher than yesterday :p
otnemem311 November 17th, 2004, 11:23 PM Eating today was good, I had a friggin massive headache, I know it was because of a lack of caffeine from sodas, this is the first day in a long time I've gone with drinking one. Didn't make it to the gym though, oh well.
tensdanny November 18th, 2004, 02:58 AM get back in the game dude! going to the gym is the best part of the day. :-) atleast it is my favorite part. I definitely enjoy the byproduct of happiness from working out. It is a new challenge to me. It adds a welcome dose of excitement to my day.
Diet today was pretty good. I eat very well. Good thing i'm at college. My mother always has too many goodies and temptations lying around. I'm still shootin' for february to have my six-pack.
Reese November 18th, 2004, 01:49 PM Hey guys, things are still going great here, I haven't posted in a while because of the hectic schedule - I am going to weigh tomorrow for the first time in a month (not a big on scales!)---let ya know
:D
Marcman November 18th, 2004, 04:28 PM ive been switching off between eating way too much and way too little due to out of town visitor's and whatnot
however, my workouts have been surprisingly good and im still making gains slowly but surely. I also think that im losing some bf% very slowly as i can see more and more of my top abs when i suck in, so thats good. still got 5-10lbs of fat to lose, but thats going to take a long long while.
tensdanny November 19th, 2004, 03:57 AM i hate people who criticize me for electing to live a healthy lifestyle in college. screw that. i am just trying to get shredded. live your pizza and beer consuming life and leave me alone.
i am going to try and pick up the pace of my cardio starting now. i absolutely need to speed up my results. i want 10-11% body fat by christmas. right now i want to think i'm like 13, but in reality i'm probably 16-17. So, that is probably unattainable, but here's hoping :D
tensdanny November 20th, 2004, 05:36 AM tonight i had my weekly cheat day for my buds 18th birthday. had 4 donuts. yum yum. and some candy. and some chips. thats alright though. tomorrow is insane hour of cardio day.
tensdanny November 23rd, 2004, 01:47 AM so this weekend, and today, i've eaten like utter crap. i am taking this week off from lifting and cardio to give myself a rest. i've been at it since school started in september. anyway, right on schedule, i'm down about 10 pounds since the school year started, which is impressive considering i'm at college. i am eating normal foods, not all clean foods this week, as i think i deserve it. after this week, no cheat meals until christmas. i hope to be at 12% body fat by then. that is the goal.
tensdanny November 23rd, 2004, 01:50 AM elaborating on my last post, come christmas, take another week off due to the holidays, then get right back at it, arriving at my goal of 10% hopefully by valentines day, then i am going to take another week off of strict dieting while still lifting, and then begin my bulk, and add 8-10 pounds of lean mass, then be satisfied and live a maintaining life.

I am sure you can do it man! Everyone can do anything they truly commit themselves to. Things are going well here. I am up to eating 3600ish cals a day.... kinda a pita but i am certainly learning a lot about my body
tensdanny November 23rd, 2004, 09:04 PM god i cannot take a week off, i need to workout!!!!!! i am going to do some cardio i think, i crave scuplting my body!!!!!!! i am messed up, but i need to workout!!
tensdanny November 24th, 2004, 01:10 AM I did 25 minutes of pretty intense cardio today. I have to workout, simple as that. I am too focused. I will continue to do cardio and diet this week, while laying off lifting.
Anyway, assuming I am at 165 or 170, and at 16% body fat, i'd have roughly 139 or 143 pounds of lean body mass. This works for me. Assuming I am cutting cleanly, and lose 1 pounds each week for the next 10 weeks(right at valentines day, when i want my goal accomplished) would put me right around 10% body fat. That would be wonderful. Here is hoping my fat loss does not slow down once i crack 12 percent.
With that said, I am going to continue to try and eat healthy through the holidays, as I really want to accomplish this goal. Once I hit 10%, i am going to try and add 8-10 pounds of muscle, so then i can eat less clean, and still stay relatively the same as long as i lift.
I'm stoked!! :spaz: :db: :bb:  :flex:

good luck bro... one thing though is that is will almost certainly slow down once you start cracking 12... although it probably wont be that bad. I got to 8% pretty easily, but I was also cutting too quick. Thumbs up on the very realistic goal too by the way. All to often people set goals that they couldn't possibly hit or at least not reasonably. Yours is very very attainable.
tensdanny November 28th, 2004, 05:25 PM thanks griffin.
This has been a good week of not eating especially clean. No alcohol, and fairly clean food, but the calories have been atleast 2800 each day. Hopefully this got my metabolism fired up and ready for the home stretch. I had a great time away from school. It was a blast!
tensdanny November 30th, 2004, 03:18 PM i had a bitchin' back workout yesterday, and i am definitely feelin' it.
I focused all my sets of deadlifts, and bent over barbell rows. I have been following swolecat's principals of 5 or 6 compound movements and hit them very hard.
After a week of eating diiiirty, i am back on the clean bandwagon. It was tough though yesterday. Unhealthy yet yummy food is really addicitive. I am carrying a boatload of water weight still from all the post-thanksgiving leftovers. Stuffing straight out of the turkey is like heaven!!
tensdanny November 30th, 2004, 10:37 PM I've noticed while in college you don't have to do much cardio as long as your diet is in order. I walk probably 35 minutes everyday for classes alone, so add 20 minutes of 70% cardio and i'm set. I'm lovin' it!
I <3 cajun chicken.
Marcman December 1st, 2004, 01:33 AM eating clean is definitely one of my biggest hurdles. yesterday was better than today, but im trying. as long as im not around the bad food i can do alright. yesterday i had
1 chicken breast and 1 hamburger bun
1 can of corn
2 scoops whey
2 servings almonds
1 chicken breast and 1 servings of mixed vegetables
i thought that was perfect. i know that doesnt seem like a lot but i was perfectly content with it
today i had
1 can of tuna (1tsp mayo, 1 sweet 1 dill pickle, onion, celery)
hamburger bun, mustard
1 chicken breast
2 servings almonds
1 chicken breast
and then i went over to my friend's house who i hadnt seen in a while and had 2 portions of this baked ziti type stuff and a few glasses of chocolate milk. i feel like barfing now, but i think its ok since i didnt eat toooooo much during the day!
my workouts have been outstanding, but getting back on the cardio wagon is getting harder and harder now that the weather has gone south. I'll definitely start up with cardio after this semester is over in a few weeks, hopefully before then. Next semester im not taking that many classes so i can focus a lot more on health!!
tensdanny December 1st, 2004, 10:06 PM just had a bitchin' chest workout. I dropped a barbell on myself though trying to get out a 5th rep on 135. I cannot wait to bulk so i can put up some serious weight.
Marcman December 1st, 2004, 10:44 PM wednesday workout was good. kind of strange though, the three different kinds of plate raises i do to warm up for my shoulders/triceps are really taxing my forearms these last two sessions. i dont know what the deal with that is
food for today has been
pasta + prego sauce
2 scoops whey
2 servings almonds
and im about to make an awesome foreman steak and that should do it. might do two more scoops of whey before bed to make up for the lack of protein in my lunch.
tensdanny December 2nd, 2004, 12:28 AM Example of a day's diet. depending on which day it is and class times, the time of consuming food varies.
7:30 AM
3 TBPS Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter
9:15 AM
1 stick of String Cheese
11:00 AM
2 TBPS Natural Peanut Butter
12:30 PM
1 hamburger pattie or 1 cup of sweet n sour chicken(out of curiosity, how does "fast food" style sweet n sour chicken look nutritional wise?)
3:30 PM
1 stick of String Cheese
5:00 PM if lifting, if cardio, skip this meal
Natural Peanut Butter Sandwich on some random cheap wheat bread
6:00 PM
Workout
7:00 PM
Whey/Dex after lifting
Cajun chicken on a wheat bun w/ lettuce tomato pickel
8:30 PM
Cajun Chicken on a what bun w/ lettuce tomato pickel
11:30
1 TBPS Flax oil
1/2 Scoop All the Whey Milk Isolate
1/2 Scoop of ATW Concentrate
i don't know why i felt like posting that, just did. I have no idea what the calories are, or what the macro's are. I'm not worried. I eat foods that i love. I am going to start adding frozen veggies to my diet since i hardly get any due to ordering my food at school. How does this diet look fellas? Is this going to be the bread and butter that gets me to my goal of 10%? I get lots of healthy fats, but i'm not sure about the omega 3 content. Does natty pb have omega 3? i know it is loaded with omega 6.
Marcman December 2nd, 2004, 02:06 AM seems like too much fat to me with all the peanut butter and cheese, and also seems like a LOT of cals for someone who is trying to cut, but i might be off. you should try using fitday.com and figuring out the cals
EDIT: actually, nevermind about the fat. im supposed to eat around 50g a day and i know 2tbsp of peanut butter has something like 15g of fat and the string cheese is probably half that
tensdanny December 2nd, 2004, 05:30 AM 2250 calories. Damn. I figured it'd be way less. Maybe i wiill cut the string cheese out. I easily ate 2300 calories today this means. I am going to have to rethink this, and get it down to 2100-2150.
Marcman December 2nd, 2004, 11:40 AM i would say getting rid of one or both of the wheat buns would be an easy way to drop 200-300 cals. you should probably get more carbs earlier in the day and from whole wheat of vegetables
jgmx December 2nd, 2004, 01:03 PM ive gained 7lbs already :jumping: and its been two months since i started bulkin it kinda seem like im gainin 1lb per week... im gonna take new pics once my rash clreas up :D
tensdanny December 2nd, 2004, 11:17 PM diet today was picture perfect. I also had my best leg workout ever. I can barely walk, and i love it.
Marcman December 3rd, 2004, 01:33 AM Happy Birthday Reese!!
tensdanny December 5th, 2004, 08:32 PM successfully resisted papa murphy's pizza this week. As well as cheesy tuna caserole. I did have my cheat meal of a steak queso burrito at qdoba this week. it was great. however, i was right at maintance that day, so it wasn't much of a cheat!! I'm going strong right now, seeing more definitely below the waste then i have before, not to sound gross but i am starting to see lines and whatnot. tis sexy.
otnemem311 December 7th, 2004, 01:02 AM Some big news on my part!! My neighbor Steph signed me up for the Boston Marathon (I'm not sure how considering I've never run a marathon before)....so yeah, that mother is 26 miles long. I can barely run 3!! We're going to train our asses off, and considering she paid I would feel horrible if I didn't work as hard as I could! It's in April, I definitely think I can make it.
So that means, none of this lazy ass stuff I've been doing this semester (I've gained so much fat, it's horrible). Next semester, with a job, hopefully, I will be able to not worry about all the expensive food I will need to cut like crazy. To think I actually missed my Sunday workout, I'm such a slacker.
tensdanny December 8th, 2004, 12:21 AM Great workout today. Absolutely fried my traps and delts. Yay Yay!
otnemem311 December 8th, 2004, 02:10 AM Turns out I can't do the Boston Marathon because you need a qualifying time, so instead we're doing the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon (classier sounding, eh?). It's a qualifyer for Boston, so that should be just as much fun. I can't wait!
tensdanny December 8th, 2004, 09:40 PM Turns out I can't do the Boston Marathon because you need a qualifying time, so instead we're doing the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon (classier sounding, eh?). It's a qualifyer for Boston, so that should be just as much fun. I can't wait!
how many miles is it bro? when are you going to start training? good luck :tu:
tensdanny December 9th, 2004, 12:50 AM I am kicking my workout plans ass. I have had some dangerously intense workouts so to speak this week. They have been amazing. It feels like my goal is getting closer and closer every day!!! I realize that it is, and that's why it feels this way. But it does feel great!!
I love back day. Not only is it an intense lifting workout, with all the compound movements it's also great cardio as well.
otnemem311 December 9th, 2004, 03:17 AM how many miles is it bro? when are you going to start training? good luck :tu:
26 miles!!! It's a monster, but I can't wait. I start training Monday with my friend Steph. We're working on endurance with running, and other forms of cardio, along with lifting lots of weights. I'm so excited about doing this!!!! I just imagine the sights I'll see running 26 miles around Cincinatti, the Ohio River, I'm teeming with excitement, only five more months to go!
tensdanny December 9th, 2004, 07:54 PM I just had my cheat meal, and boy howdy it was yummy. It was a cup of soft served twist ice cream. Two slices of pizza. A slice of garlic bread, and then a miniscule amount of pasta. Now it's back to the clean eating for the week. Macro's aside, i may still be under my maintance or close to today. I haven't eaten very much at all due to being ridiculously busy with finals and such.
tensdanny December 10th, 2004, 01:16 PM wow, i look really, really lean today. Like 13% body max max. Still have love handles, but thats about it. The rest of the fat is gone for the most part. Some in the lower back as well, but I guess thats always last to go!
I'm stoked, my cutting phase is going really well this time around.
Marcman December 10th, 2004, 08:09 PM yeah, my biggest problem areas right now are the mid section, and a LOT of my lower back, along with the seemingly permanent love handles
on the plus side, i just went to sams club and loaded up on fresh chicken breasts and tons of vegetables :D
i really do need to fix my whole diet though, cant seem to get it right

I would recommend if you want to see results, try increasing your healthy fat intake to 40%, and bringing down your carbs to 20%. Healthy fats fill you up as you know. Don't have any simple carbs before you workout, instead have one banana one hour before you lift. Do the whole dex pwo thingy. Then have steak/chicken and and low gi carb. You know the whole deal. Include brocholi in every meal. My results have blown me away on this. The reason is works so well is healthy fats fill you up like you wouldn't believe, so you're not too hungry. More importantly, Fat raises testerone levels significantly. My gains have gone up steadily while eating 2000 calories a day. I really have seen quite a change in my body composition, and i'd encourage anyone to try it. Be forewarned, the first week you do this you will be miserable. From there on you get used to it and it works really, really well.
Marcman December 10th, 2004, 09:11 PM can you give me an example of your diet? im ready to pull my hair out trying to figure out cals and ratios on stupid things that give you a serving size based on weight and not quantity, being that i have no scale. im planning on ordering some kent nutrition dex, but how do i know how much to put into a pwo shake?
tensdanny December 11th, 2004, 05:38 PM can you give me an example of your diet? im ready to pull my hair out trying to figure out cals and ratios on stupid things that give you a serving size based on weight and not quantity, being that i have no scale. im planning on ordering some kent nutrition dex, but how do i know how much to put into a pwo shake?
sure.
first thing, i start out doing am cardio most of the time. Sometimes it just isn't possible due to class schedule and stuff but most days I can.
As soon as i get back to my dorm after this, i take a small amount of flax, and mix it in with whey.
45 minutes later, i consume a banana.
2.5 hours later, i consume a chicken breast or steak pattie of some sort. Lots of brocholli here.
2 hours later after that, i have a turkey sub loaded with veggies from our school food service, i drink about 35-40 ounces of water here as well.
1 hours before I lift, i mix flax and whey together again.
directly after i'm done lifting, i go for 50 grams of dextrose, roughly 25 grams of protein from an all the whey concentrate, i add alittle additional beyond one scoop. I use orange whey and kent dex, and add 24 ounces of water. I chug it, but I guess you're supposed to sip it over like 10 minutes.
1 hourish later, i have a cajun chicken sandwich on some sort of rye roll from my school food service. It is grilled cajun chicken, and has lettuce, and tomato on it, and i always eat a pickel. It is served with the world's best french fries, and i always have 5 of them, then throw the other 30-40 away. I don't really fret too much about this meal at all since it is yummy.
3-4 hours later, before bed, I use a combination of half a scoop of all the whey concentrate, and 1/2 a scoop of all the whey milk isolate, and then i add some flax. I chug it and chase it because it is rancid.
As you can see, I don't really focus on calories as much as eating less processed foods. I don't really measure anything out exactly other than dex, and even so that is always a +-5 gram margin since you have a heaping mound or slightly less that supposed to.
It has worked well for me, and the food I eat is pretty good. By no means is this a ketogenic diet, it just focuses on carbohydrate timing. This diet was based off one swolecat referred to as "kick ass" over in the anabolic review forums. Maybe you'd want to be more meticulous about calories then I if you tried this, but i'd say since you're bigger you'd might want to add some more calories.
I used to really over analyze and i'd count calories and figure out pounds lost per day and whatnot and it was just a huge waste of time. I just eat clean and exercises and the results have come pretty quick. I also take the kent nutrition multivitamin. I think since there are so many veggies and unsaturated fats, i am getting a wealth of vitamins and minerals, which promotes fat loss since your system in working at it's peak, plus a testerone spike which has made my lifts go up.
Marcman December 13th, 2004, 04:43 PM thanks for the info. This semester is just about over and I'm home for almost 2 weeks which i plan to devote strictly to working out and health since ive been stagnant pretty much for 2 or 3 months. Weight is staying the same but so is BF% i think, even though a few of my lifts are going up slowly.
I think planning out a DETAILED diet with times and activities will REALLY help me out and keep me focused. What happens with me is i keep track of calories for the most part, and if I'm low on a certain day, I feel like that gives me an excuse to eat something i shouldnt, or way too much. I also have no self control, but that's a completely different story. So as soon as I get home, expect some *new* starting pics and a more detailed plan. I'll try and work out it here pretty soon and at the beginning of next semester. Thanks for the great advise tho!
tensdanny December 15th, 2004, 02:41 AM i've been having some good workouts lately, and good results. I drank like a sailor on saturday night, so i think that set me back. I definitely consumed a few pieces of pizza saturday as well, and sunday morning I was bloated like you wouldn't believe.
I think i was at my thinnest in years on saturday morning. Sunday I was a giant!!!!!
I am going to start doing more cardio i am thinking. I have really been slacking on the am cardio.
tensdanny December 21st, 2004, 02:44 AM wow, it's been awhile. Anyhow, i did some hit today. Lifted last week. You know how it goes. Busy, busy busy with exams and all this week.
tensdanny December 22nd, 2004, 08:12 PM my sleeping schedule is so screwed up from exam week and not having to ever do anything back home. I go to bed at like 4 am, and wake up at 3-4 in the afternoon. Atleast i'm getting my rest! I have a dentist appointment tomorrow during my weight room's hours so i won't be able to lift again until the 27th. Because of this, yesterday I focused solely on legs, and today I hit all the major compound movements that i could. Flat bench, dead lifts, bent-over barbell rows, dips, military press. Needless to say I am tanked right now, and I am sipping on my pwo.
tensdanny December 24th, 2004, 07:59 PM To everyone who reads this:
have a merry christmas, and a happy holiday! Make sure to eat lots of goodies tomorrow, then get right back on track!
Griffin, Marcman, where are you guys??!?
tensdanny December 28th, 2004, 06:19 AM I've eaten like shit for like a week straight now. Tomorrow is back to strict cutting. It is so much easier to cut effectively at school. There I feel i don't have to go out to eat with friends constantly and such. I think I set myself back quite a bit to be honest, as i've pigged out. However, my metabolism and body should be ready to go into shock again now, and i should cut extremely well for this next week. My body is probably used to eat 3000 cals a day.
agentJ January 11th, 2005, 03:42 PM God! I've been searching for a thread like this and I was about to create one until I stumbled upon the challengs forum heheh (;
otnemem311 i and jgmx, I'm in the same boat where I work tons of hours and go to school fulltime as well. DeafNgari, excellent qoute on running too heh. Like it was said before, simple motivation, i like it (;
My stats roughly:
5"11
171 lbs
bf~ 22%
(I use health central's calculators..)
My goal? I'm a bit at loss here. I want to actually start gaining muscle while working down the fat, with a focus of lowering my fat (more cardio then weights?)
The reason I say this is because last year when I first visited this site I was 230 lbs. I studied and read John's work and decided to eat clean and focus on cardio/ occasional weights. in the summer I also took jujitsu and that really burned up what fat I had. I went down to 171, where I am now.
Either way. My goal is to get to:
160
10 bf~ more or less how where john was when he ended his initial fat lost to begin gaining
I still do mostly cardio however, with very limited weight lifting - once school starts Ill begin lifting
tensdanny January 22nd, 2005, 06:31 AM currently i am bulking. I abandoned my previous plan for getting shredded since i find it much easier to eat clean at school. I have just completely one week of an eight week bulk. I figure i can cut the fat off much faster with 8-12 additional pounds of muscle!!
Smickens8 February 11th, 2005, 12:24 AM I'll be in the challenge in the sense of eatting
Fiber: 50 grams
:D
50 grams of fiber is quite impressive...how do you do it?
Also, i like your mantra "The girls are more impressed when you have a 6-pack than when you finish one.... ummmmmm."---it's so true.
jgmx March 10th, 2005, 03:27 AM ^ whats up guys!!!
