I'm looking for a bit of advice on how to handle the next three months of my life.

I havnet posted here in a while, but I'm doing great. I've lost 40 pounds of fat in the last year. (wow. I just realized this.) I'm getting pretty close to having a 6 pack, and certainly expect to in the next two months. I owe this mostly to the diet habits I learned here on Johns forums.

Thanks John :d_biggrin

I am training to be a Fireman. I am enrolled in a Fire Agility course that meets three times a week. During the two hours of class we stretch, go through extensive cardio (generally running), and then lift weights and do ab training.

Its only been two weeks and I'm already in the best shape of my life.

But its not enough. I want to lift on the other days.. my concern, however, is muscle recovery. If I work a muscle hard 3x/week in class, and then tear it apart 1x/week on a split routine at the gym, am I doing more harm then good?

- the thing is, after doing cardio, I find I dont have the energy to lift to my potential (nor are we really given the opportunity). Still, recovery will be questionable.

I also need to figure out how much I should be eating, which is probably much more then I do now, but I'll try to do that on my own.

It would probably be overdoing it. I'd stick with what they're giving you now, and then when it's finished take a more conventional approach in the gym to maximize muscle growth.

Thats all the responce I get?

But I cant do that,. I've got to do something,.

I've been doing push ups and pull ups.

I can do more then ever, even though I'm not fully rested. I'm going to make sure muscles get fully worked, and then rest as much as possible (without going too easy on myself)

I started eating more and I'm going to start taking HMB. Maybe that will help.
