Nutritionwise, bulking has more to do with the number of calories consumed than just the amount of protein eaten. You can eat the amount of protein you're talking about and still be calorie deficient, but you will not see the kind of gains that you would if you were consuming some amount of calories over maintenance. For bulking, I'd shoot for 500-1000 calories over maintenance.

thx im assumin when u say maintenance your referring to the basal calculator from schteevie bulking for beginner's guide?
they 2250cal/day is where im @ now..........they say i should be @ 2926...........so it sounds like ur sayin i should 500-1000 over 2926 for better gains.

I don't quite understand your numbers there, but whatever the calculator produced as your maintenance caloric intake, you should add 500-1000 to it.

I would mean 500 cal over what it would take to maintain bodyweight while doing all the lifting/cardio etc.. that you are doing or going to do. Probably the best way to figure this out is to start with a guess based upon you previous exersice and weight trends and slowly increase calories untill you are gaining muscle without gaining too mauch fat. Unfortunately the first few times you bulk this truns into a bit of an experiment and can result in either more fat gains or slower muscle gains for the first couple of months. After a while you start to get tuned into your body and can figure out how much you need to eat for optimal results. Remember it takes a while to see changes in fat or muscle so average over 7-10 days before making corrections.

if you are deficient in calories, you would be cutting and not bulking. I am bulking currently and I try to hit my protein goal, get around 15%-25% of my cals from fat and use mostly complex carbs for the rest.
