I have been wondering how people manage to get all their meals in. Don't forget that a fair few of people's 6 meals are accounted for by whey shakes or MRP's like you said. I have had to change my diet round quite a bit to suit working hours, its pretty hard work I must admit. I am thinking of getting into MRP's to get my calories up because I only have an hour at work when I can eat. It wouldn't be too bad if I whipped out a pre-made MRP though.

Of course it depends on our jobs. I have an office job with a fridge and micro, so no real problem unless I'm in meetings all day, in which case I take food with me. So far no-one has complained, probably coz I'm thninner than most and they are thinking 'yup that guy needs to eat'. And yes, one of those meals is 20-30 mins before bed.

Is it that you can't eat at work or that you can't figure out how to make up the meals?

i can eat @ work ive recently switched from sandwhiches to leftovers from dinner the nite b4 cus i dont get enuff protein from 2 sandwhiches.............but i figure I eat a hearty breakfast and a nice lunch12pm then i get a lil hungry again toward 3-4pm but i dont think managment would like the idea of me having 2 lunch breaks...........so im thinking of bringin some MRP bars or somethin.............so when i go home @ 6:30 i eat dinner then i go work after 45min or so then i come back and its gettin kinda late so i skip another meal then take my whey................

i guess the only way 2 find out which is better(squeez another meal in b4 u sleep and have it sit in ur stomach or substitute the MRP w. it) is to try both and see what happens.

u dont c a problem w. havin the meal sit in ur stomach over nite?

There are a few post around on this. Some wisdom is that you will burn more fat in your sleep if you go to bed on an empty stomach. I tried this and it failed miserably for me because I'd eat a larger dinner instead of spreading out the meals and also I'd be hungrier in the morning. The key is not to increase your calories, but to spread them out with low GI foods, exept after lifting. I got down from 12% BF to 10% just recently while eating before bet. Doesn't prove anything but I think you should try it.

Somthing about your post suggests that you might not have your diet dialed in. Eating the wrong foods before bed could be bad. I've learned to like cottage cheese just so I could have a good pre-bed meal. I eat it with Kash Go-Lean for some carbs and fiber. Obviously if you have trouble sleeping on a full stomach reconsider or move the last meal to an earlier time.

Also don't skip a meal so you can take your Whey. Meals are better than whey and you can always take whey as well if your meal doesn't include enough protein. I add it to yogurt with some cereal for carbs - good meal (mius decent fat).

I don't know anything about MRP's but if you can eat that while you work, can you eat a can of tuna and some carbs (perhaps an apple or wholeweat bread or something)?

Try to maintain calories and spread them out as much as possible.

I eat 5-6 meals per day and here is how my schedule usually goes:

7am-PWO shake
8am-breakfast
11am-lunch 1
2pm-lunch2
430pm-snack
7pm-dinner
10pm-pre bed snack/meal

I haven't really had any negative effects from eating before bed. I have noticed that if I eat something a little fatty, such as nat pb, the scale may be a little higher the next morning, but it goes away.
