I'm trying to find a step block for doing dumbbell step-ups among other things. I'd like to find something thats a) adjustable, and b) up to 14" high. All of the aerobic step blocks I've seen are typically a max of 8" high. Any suggestions?

thanks

To save money you might use the above ideas to make your own or get someone local to make one for you.

Actually, that gives me an idea for adding more variety to my exercise list. I could use a step up platform and a safety squat bar, as a good alternative to doing regular squats. I could simply have weight on my back using the safety squat bar, as if I was preparing to do a squat... but instead of squatting I could put my right foot on the step up platform, then push with my right leg, raising my body until my left foot rests on the platform, then lower my left foot back down to the floor. That would be one rep and after finishing 20 reps with one leg, I could do the other leg. With an adjustable platform I could experiment to find the best height for doing that exercise. For example, I would think that placing the platform higher up would target the glutes more. I like variety and also since I have an injured back I prefer to do exercises which don't place as much weight on my spine.

I use the 'up to 15.5"' Super Step, about $70 from Walmart.
