View Full Version : should I eat pre work out? Mick Mauldin September 14th, 2004, 11:58 AM Would I be stronger through my work out if I ate and had some protien? Mick DeafNgari September 14th, 2004, 12:14 PM Definately eat before you lift. For cardio if you are cutting, then you don't need to. My typical preworkout meal is just my normal breakfast which usually consists of some oats, eggs, and a piece or 2 of toast. Mick Mauldin September 14th, 2004, 12:16 PM I just woke up tired and hungry this morning so I ate first and had 28g of protein... txitalian September 14th, 2004, 12:45 PM I think it is different for everybody. For myself, I feel like I always have a better workout lifting on an empty stomach. If I eat first, I feel sluggish for some reason. You need to try both for a while and see what works best for you. Jason born sleepy September 14th, 2004, 02:35 PM it sure is different for everybody. if I don't have something pre-workout I get dizzy and my lifts suck esp. on the big compounds. usually I have oatmeal. I felt better after I ate something. It was a lot of protien. 1FastGTX September 14th, 2004, 06:34 PM If I don't eat before working out I feel horrible. Dizzy, weak, and sick to my stomach. Some friends of mine (some in better shape than me) are the opposite though. So I do think at least from the aspect of feeling crappy it depends on the person. taffer September 14th, 2004, 07:07 PM i make sure i get some good carbs and protein i made the mistake of having some vegies before my workout yesterday, and only giving them 1hour to digest, for the first 20or so mins of my workout i felt a little sick, it passed though but i find that i workout best if i have alot of good protein, i also find its best if that protein comes from meat, i do have complex carbs too! oats, bread, some yoghurt maybe, just give your body enough time to digest it! |
