View Full Version : Too much body fat, or Gyno? ChiLL September 11th, 2004, 09:30 PM Topic says it all... gfresh September 11th, 2004, 11:54 PM well can't really tell that well. did you check under your nipple for a hard lump? if you have a hard lump there its gyno SegmentationFault September 12th, 2004, 01:04 AM well can't really tell that well. did you check under your nipple for a hard lump? if you have a hard lump there its gyno When I was 11 - 12 I had the hard lumps, but a kind of bullyish guy in school grabbed me hard and broke it (those of you who used to have manboobs may be familiar with those assholes who like to fool around with you and grab you to make fun of you, but hey, i was young and nerdy). I dont remember about the other one, it may have had gone away by itself. Ever since then my chest has been a little puffed out, and now I've lost a lot of fat and they are still that way. I dont wanna atribute it to gyno but since you guys mentioned the lumps... I just want to make sure. I'll know for sure when I finish getting ripped and pumping up my pecs. Hurt_Conveyor September 12th, 2004, 03:49 PM I'm kinda goin through the same thing here, trying to figure out if I have gyno or just fat. I used to have 1 lump under each nipple when I was younger (early teens) I never really paid any attention to it after that. Since I've started getting fit I've obviously been paying more attention to my body, I notice now that I have a few lumps all around my chest (although not directly under the nipple as it used to be), I dont have puffy nipples... but I'm unsure if it's gyno or just fat. I'm at 13.5-14.5 % BF atm (13.5 according to my calipers), however I seem to store fat in stupid places... for example When im stood up I dont look that 'chubby', in fact I can start to see the outline of my abs (and if i cheat and pull the fat down i can see my abs) but when I sit down I look pretty fat, it seem to store directly round the front of my mid section. I'm just gonna bide my time till i get down to my ideal BF and if I can still grab a hand full of chest then I'll be paying a visit to my GP. sorry it's not an answer to your question, but it'll show ya not alone. I'll post up more when I know more about it myself....Hopefully it's just fat. inurb September 12th, 2004, 04:34 PM I had pretty bad man boobs myself, once I started working out and lifting weights they just went away and formed into nice looking pecs. Start a cutting program and incorporate weight training into it. In a few months they should be gone. :tu: legend September 12th, 2004, 09:10 PM inurb is right (judging my from my experience) i had them pretty bad but ive been on sgx a little under 2 months now i believe and they are turning into pecks. its awesome. Sake Ninja September 13th, 2004, 01:41 AM I don't think that's gyno.. I have gyno and it looks nothing like that (for one, your nipples look normal). I would say it's just body fat. SegmentationFault September 13th, 2004, 07:15 AM I don't think that's gyno.. I have gyno and it looks nothing like that (for one, your nipples look normal). I would say it's just body fat. What if I have a normal pectoral muscle, not much more fat left, but my nipple is kind of puffy/standing out? Skoorb September 13th, 2004, 10:56 AM Hard to say without you trimming down more first. I used to have 1 lump under each nipple when I was younger (early teens) I never really paid any attention to it after that. I'm at about 12% and all my fat is in my front it seems. When I sit down it rolls up a bit. Nothing crazy, but that's where the fat is. If you want the look where you're sitting without any rolling/fat in the way you need to get to the 10s. Remember that people on tv or in mags are normally flexing to look how they do. Sake Ninja September 13th, 2004, 11:36 AM What if I have a normal pectoral muscle, not much more fat left, but my nipple is kind of pussy/standing out? Gyno is usually the entire pec. That could be something totally different (get a Doc to check it out). If it itches, you could be on the road to gyno though. ChiLL September 13th, 2004, 12:06 PM so the symptoms for it are itchyness and lumps? I can definitely feel something behind the left one but i wouldn't say it's lumps...i would think that it's what is normally felt (whatever tissue and such the chest is made up of). My nipples don't get itchy...im on a cutting phase so we'll see how it goes in the future...i hope it's not gyno though. Timbermiko September 13th, 2004, 01:04 PM It's a drag that some of us store alot of fat in the chest. Seems like i gain mine there first. I really think you could have good results cutting like everyone has said. When i brought my bf% down to around 12 i was getting pleased. This round i want go lower; 9-10% and see if it really decreases the bf. in my chest. I've had mine checked. 1st. by a plastic surgeon, 2nd by a general. The plastic man said it might be gyno-then 3years later when i went back after i lost alot of fat he couldn't believe the results and was real encouraging. He also said the fat had decreased so much that he wouldn't want to "scuplt" it. Didn't want to mess with mother nature. Also, my reg. Doc. said it was not gyno, just bf. with a bit of loose skin. And yours looks close to the shape of my pecs. ONE MORE thing. If any of u guys are legit in having gyno and are going to get surgery done to remove it, ask alot of questions in educate yourself on the subject and procedures. Sometimes the surgery looks worse than the before. Kent OoOGazOoO September 13th, 2004, 01:27 PM i am 17, and weigh 145 pounds, i have always thought my chest was bigger than it probably should be at my size, i have two hard lumps under each nipple, from what it feels like it feels about the size of a pea. Could this be gyno? ? ? trainiac September 13th, 2004, 01:30 PM I'm not an authority on this, but I thought gyno was from steroids. When you take steroids, your normal testosterone production goes down, but you keep making the same amount of estrogen. So when you stop taking the 'roids, you've got a normal level of estrogen but a very low level of testosterone. That encourages breast tissue growtn as in a woman. If you have recently taken steroids and stopped, then it is probably gyno. If not, you probably just have extra fat there. In any event, I think all you can do is keep losing body fat. If you've still got those puffy nipples when the rest of you is ripped, then only surgery will help. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.... ---Trainiac! www.clintphillips.com Sake Ninja September 13th, 2004, 10:01 PM I'm not an authority on this, but I thought gyno was from steroids. People typically use the itchy nipples as an indication of whether it's developing or not. Some guys just end up with it after puberty. As you get older, T levels lower, which is why a lot of old guys have gyno and that group is the majority having surgery to correct it (as per my surgeon). Go check here: http://www.gynecomastia.org/ Timbermiko September 14th, 2004, 03:02 AM There is glandular tissue under the nips. I guess some of us have more than others That can show up puffy, at a lean bodyweight. I've seen on some sites where they remove the glandular tissue. From what i read after they remove the tissue they may have to "fill" in the area with fat or there will be a crater like appearence...and it looks like hell. Seen where this guy had this done on tv and it looked worse than before. k |
