Howdy, first time poster here, although I've known about this site
since mid-summer. Love it, very much unlike every other bodybuilding
site out there.

Anyway, onto the question at hand!

Ok, so I'm back in college (woo) and basically am a whore to what the
cafeteria puts out for me to eat. We have a basic Food Court type
system that you might find at your local mall, different "restaraunts"
with different foods, etc. Well, basically, here's what my daily meals
consist of....

Supplements:
1 Centrum Multivitamin with alot of water...

Lunch: (I can't do breakfast since I only have 14 meals to use a week.)

Two Italian Sandwiches w/:
A few pieces of Ham, Salami, Pepperoni, and Bacon
If breakfast food is left over, usually some Eggs/Sausage along
with the sandwiches.
Two glasses of either Milk w/ Vitamin D or 100% Cranberry Juice

Snacks in between:
Pack of Sunflower Seeds (David)
Granola Bars (2 - NatureValley 100% Natural Oats and Honey)
Honey Roasted Peanuts (Planters)

Dinner:
Usually either Two Hot Dogs w/ Mustard or a Hamburger w/ Mustard (nothing else on either.)
Handful or so of French Fries.
Banana (1)
Usually just a couple glasses of water to drink.
If I'm in a frisky mood I'll get a bowl of Granola Oats type
cereal with alot of Vitamin D Milk.
**That's all for dinner, usually... We don't get a whole lot of selection.**

Snacks after Dinner:
Usually a packet of Ramen Noodles (Beef)
For a nice drink, usually a glass of Country Time Lemonade.

I've been drinking about 3 quarts (about 12 cups, I suppose) of water
each day -- usually filtered in a Brita Water Pitcher.

I realize here that I'm probably not getting anywhere near enough
Protein or Carbs, but I'm trying...
I'm trying to eat enough so that I'll gain a fair amount of muscle
during my six month "bulking" season, but trying to keep off the weight...
Keeping off the weight isn't too hard since this is the same stuff
I ate last year and I maybe gained 3 pounds all year.

Any thoughts, comments, suggestions? Give them all right here! (As opposed to someone else's thread! :))

:jumping: <-- This is a cool emoticon.

Try using www.fitday.com to get a better idea of your calories and macronutrient ratios at each meal. One thing I would recommend is to stop eating ramen noodles. I am thinking of the kind of ramen where you add boiling water and the seasoning packet. If you look at the ingredients and the caloric distribution, you can tell it is not too good for you.

As Kingink said, you need to check what you put in your body in terms of cals and macros. Personally, I don't think that macros are of that much importance if you get some of everything.

A few questions then.

What do you mean when you say that you can only use 14 meals a week?

If you don't have any breakfast, how can there be leftovers?

he means that he as 14 meal credits and skips breakfast to make sure that he has lunch and dinner 7 days a week

2 credits a day for lunch and dinner * 7 days a week = 14. start throwing breakfast in there and you lose a lunch or dinner here and there

Yeah, that's exactly right. (and leftovers by leftovers from the breakfast that everyone else ate earlier, but they put out for our lunch.) :)

Breakfast is SO important that i would try and at least pocket the fruit and keep it for the next morning.

You don't have to eat in the cafeteria while your in college. I lived in the dorms last year and I made eggs and oatmeal every morning for breakfast, and I almost always made my dinner downstairs on a George Foreman Grill that I brought from home. Also hot dogs and italian sandwiches although tasty, don't have excatly have the best macronutrient breakdown when compared to something you could maybe get off campus, or make yourself. Use up most or your meal card, then take a look around campus for healthy places to eat.

You need a breakfast, even if it's just a bowl of oatmeal. A big cylinder of the stuff can't run you over $5, and will easily carry you for a week on breakfast, if not more. It takes 3 minutes to cook, with water or milk. At the very least, go buy some instant oatmeal packets.

Oh, I see. I was kinda confused there.

Paradise, I agree with widerbeast. Breakfast is important. You should definitely consider getting some.

Do you live in a dorm? Have you thought about renting a mini-fridge?

Back in the day, they weren't much to rent for the year. You could stash a lot of good stuff for breakfast and snacks.
