Hi, i'm 22, from the UK and almost 3 years ago I had a kidney transplant. All was fine, apart from a few minor illnesses, until this time last year when I had some acute rejection. I was on the ward for a month and haemodialysis for about 5months until February this year.

Although I was still moving about as much as I could, my stamina and fitness is now terrible. It wasn't great before probably due to smoking, drinking too much and lack of exercise. But I want to increase my stamina again.

I've talked to my renal doctor in the past (plus other patients) and last December he was fine for me to do martial art classes, even though at the time my renal anaemia wasn't being treated properly and I still had a tube in my chest!

At the moment my diet isn't particularly great but I was on a low potassium diet last year, which
strictly speaking i'm still on. But I have 'relaxed' it myself, with no bad blood results yet. I've started walking and cycling everyday.

At the moment my walking is from the office at the end of the day about a mile or so uphill then I cycle about 2 miles when I get home.

Basically I'm looking for a little more direction with my plans, I'm not entirely sure how to go about things. I move to university soon and will have access to a gym and other sports facilities but more than likely not my bicycle at first.
