I'm looking to buy some powertec equipment. Can anyone tell me what's the new model numbers for the utility bench, lat attachment, and the power rack (only). I've seen different colors and different model numbers so i'm not so sure. Thanks!

I think the actual model numbers are the same this year as they were last year. The only thing that changed as far as I know was the design of the lat machine.

The bench is a P-UB
The Rack is a P-PR
The Rack AND the Lat machine is a P-PRS

I have no idea what the lat machine only is. Maybe this helped if the PowerTec phone number didn't.

well, thanks to you guys, I called powertec themselves and got a good deal. Perhaps, if you looked around on the net you could find a "little" better deal, but I got mine direct from the manufacturer. I got the power rack, lat machine, and the utility bench, all for only 847.75 shippped. When I asked her about price match, the sales rep said they don't do that and told me if you buy from other dealers you're not guaranteed that you are getting it new or if it's someone's return item. So, whether it was a goods sales tactic or not, I jus didn't want to think about whether I'm getting someone's return or not, so I jus bought it straight from them, and for a good price too! Also, I'm getting the 300# olympic weight set from play it again sports for 139.99. I guess they're not on sale but it's the best price I can find around here.

how "strong" do you think this unit is? Like, if i'm workingout alone and max out and just drop it on the catch bars so many times, do you think the bars will bend?

Strong? Hehe. It will hold 1500lbs safely. I am not sure if the bars themselves would handle the 1500 drop from squat height, but I feel pretty confident the bars could handle 600 dropped. They are burly bars. They might bend a bit form a HUGE drop, but after a drop that would bend them I would certainly replace them. I don't see ever bending them. The rack only starts to feel solid with 250 loaded up...hehe. The dip bars will hold 400. Very respectable.

The rack will certainly keep the amount of weight I use from killing me when I get overzelous. I love it! :claplow:

Most likely, you're not going to end up "dropping" the bar anyway. It'd probably be more like letting the weight drop "too" the bar, and climbing out. I "dropped" about 150lbs on the safetys and it didn't even make a mark.
