View Full Version : Brad Pitt vs John Stone
d!abolic February 7th, 2004, 05:33 PM I just read a post by someone saying that it's their long-term goal to look like Brad Pitt in Fight Club. I've heard this before. For some reason, people think he looks really ripped in that movie. I'm here to set the record straight. It's all camera work, my friends! Here's an unedited photo of Pitt in Fight Club, next to a photo of John. As you can see, even though John's been working out for only a year, he already looks far better than Brad! So if you think it takes years to get the Tyler Durden look, think again! ;)

nibrudt February 7th, 2004, 06:15 PM Yeah - I was the one who put that down. Granted, Brad Pitt isn't the most buff or cut guy in the world, but compared to what I am now, it would be an improvement to look like him (he's also one of my favorite actors, so I used him as an example.
Also, I didn't mean that I would take years to look like that...but, regardless. It was just a fun post in a thread that asked what you wanted to look like.
d!abolic February 7th, 2004, 07:35 PM That wasn't really aimed at you, though inspired by you in part. Believe it or not, there are thousands of wannabe bodybuilders out there who made it their long-term goal to look like Pitt. Check out bodybuilding.com, there've been a million threads on this.
corbint February 7th, 2004, 08:25 PM the only thing i would like to resemble anything like Brad Pitt is my bank account... other than that, i think he is just too damn thin, and could stand to add 10 to 15 pounds of muscle!
nibrudt February 7th, 2004, 09:11 PM I understand what you mean D!abolic. Right now, I just want to get fit and in good shape - and that body type seemed reasonable enough. If I were into gaining mass and muscle and "beefing" up, he wouldn't be the guy I'd look towards for inspiration. But, I've never been into the huge muscle or competition look anyway.
But, yeah, you have a point - John looks a lot better than him.
(And Corbint, I'd like to be as rich as him, too.)
teencraft February 8th, 2004, 01:37 AM I think it's the fact that brad pitt has a longer stomach and shorter pecs that make so many people gravitate towards his look and want to emulate it, that's at least why I think he looks so good.
Or as good as any heterosexual male can look at another--equally--heterosexual male.
nibrudt February 8th, 2004, 01:47 AM Your last line made me laugh out loud.
I had never thought about how he was built (like, the length of his stomach for instance), but now that I look at the picture posted above, I can see where you're coming from. Maybe that's why he has an easy time staying in shape and giving that "fit" illusion (I actually have no idea, I am just thinking out loud - but it makes sense to me).

That is weird, they are really little huh..
My goal is to look something like pitt in fight club (favorite movie) by the end of the year. even if he has really little pecs..
corbint February 8th, 2004, 10:01 AM heres a pic of Brad Pitt rehearsing a Fight Club scene. notice how puny his legs look? he also has puny shoulders and no traps, and a lack of a decent v-taper. but, women would still cut through a chainlink fence with their teeth to meet him.

John Stone February 8th, 2004, 10:19 AM I saw the thread title "Brad Pitt vs John Stone" and just about shit. :o
It's a little disconcerting to have my picture right next to Brad Pitt's picture. What he lacks in the pectoral department he more than makes up for with his face. He's a good looking dude.
He does have very nice abs, but he's also very ectomorphic so that's probably not such a big accomplishment for him. He did a good job of bulking his arms. My arms look smaller than his in the above shots, but my arms are quite a bit bigger now than they were back then. I wonder what his measurements are?
It's funny because just one year ago you could have done a "John Stone vs. Danny DeVito" thread and it would have been a close race... so yeah, hard work will get you where you want to be every time.
d!abolic February 8th, 2004, 02:59 PM Three years later... John Stone vs Ronnie Coleman :D
teencraft February 8th, 2004, 04:46 PM John stone Vs. Gary coleman!
Hey John what is ectomorph? I know it's outside_something but I dunno what...I'm scared someone hold me.
Chris_Otto February 8th, 2004, 07:36 PM Google is your friend. Ectomorph is a body type, it means it is hard to gain anything, muscle fat, on and on.

seeDerekNow February 9th, 2004, 03:35 AM Keep in mind that a lot of actors do some lifting before they shoot a scene, so they can get a "pumped" look. I'm willing to bet that Brad Pitt did a few sets on the ol' bench before shooting any scenes without his shirt. Then again, these guys are also paid to look good, so they probably also train quite regularly when they're not filming.
d!abolic February 9th, 2004, 07:27 PM It would be very difficult for an actor to train consistently. Watch some special features on DVDs to see how long their workdays often are.
