lots of telco-related issues in FL... hope you arent getting hammered with too many calls due to outages. the stats below speak for themselves...

Wireless/Cellular (from Florida's EOC website)
Cingular: 93% of normal
AT&T(Ft. Lauderdale/Miami): 82%
AT&T(Ft. Myers): 97%
AT&T(Daytona Beach) 96%
AT&T(Polk): 97%
AT&T(West Palm Beach): 38%
Nextel: 85%
T-Mobile: 75%
Alltell: 96%
Sprint(Miami): 76%
Sprint(Orlando): 81%
Sprint(Jacksonville): 98%
Sprint(Tampa): 98%
Sprint(Ft. Myers): 98%
Verizon: 85%

yep, he is definitely going to be in a world of hurt with all of his ISP customers...

Florida EOC reports 1.1 million wireline customer outages state-wide.
30% cell phone coverage outage reported. Coordinating communication set
up for priority T1 lines, POTS, DSL etc.

Bellsouth: 775,000 customer outages statewide (13.1% without service)
Palm Beach, Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin Counties: (29.5%)
Orange, Brevard and Volusia Counties: (19.5%)
Plus other outages in various service areas
Sprint: 174,000 (central and southern Florida)
Verizon: 8,100
Adelphia Cable: evaluating damage
Comcast TV Cable: evaluating damage

now that you are back john, how many outages are you fighting at the office? our tampa location just came back online(damn that power!) and miami will in a day or so. how about you?

Talk about a huge relief - after Charlie things were a real mess. I was prepared for the same (or worse) this time around.

John, I think you (and the whole state of Florida) lucked out that this was mostly a really big rain storm vs. the havoc monster that Charlie turned out to be. My parents lost a screen on their linai (sp?) and that was it and they're in Tampa. My Aunt/Uncle lost one piece of siding on their house in Jupiter. Neither had power for a bit but that was sorted out pretty quickly.

So far it sounds like Ivan won't bother you guys so you should get that 1% back up in no time. ;)
