I'm wondering how to increase my metabalism? I was told that HIIT does but it also causes muscle loss. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm increasing my calories from 1508 to 1772 (where it should be for a 500 cal. deficit) for a week to see if this helps.

Eating more, more often, building muscle and exercise are all things that raise your metabolism. Building muscle is the only permament one though.
